Christian Workout Music: 100 Uplifting Songs

By , SparkPeople Blogger
Music is important to many people. It can pick you up when you're feeling down, motivate you when you need a little push, and inspire you to go the extra mile during a workout. We love to share our favoriate workout music list suggestions here on dailySpark, and we frequently receive requests for Christian exercise music. So I've compiled a list of my top 100 Christian workout songs.

There are many genres of Christian music, and even if you don't consider yourself to be religious or spiritual, you may discover that in addition to "clean lyrics," many of these songs are uplifting and encouraging in both their titles and words, making them motivational for just about anyone.
Listening to uplifting music can help anyone feel better and more positive about life. It can provide motivation to move forward with your healthy lifestyle goals, too. So whether you are feeling depressed, stressed, discouraged, or angry, this list of songs with positive messages can turn your focus back on all that is good in your life.

great list. I have quite a few and listened to others on ITunes. So great to find upbeat Christian music for workouts, my goal is to keep worldly music out of my playlists which can be a challenge especially for workout songs Report
Great list, thank you for putting it together for those of us that wish to listen to Christian music. I appreciate the time it took you to do so..... Report
Build Your Kingdom Here by Rend Collective is a good fast past song for brisk walking or running. Report
What an awesome list to have on SparkPeople! Report
This is a great list, but my go to artist when I'm running is Keith Green. Love his music! RIP Report
One of my favorites is Light Up the Sky by the Afters and so many others that you have listed. Report
Great list!! Thanks!

I also really like Building 429's "Where I Belong". Some of it may be a little slow for working out, but the chorus is a good pace and the message is definitely so uplifting! Report
This is great to list the songs like this, but is there a way to print them out? for me, it's easier to have a printed list and then go to iTunes, listen and purchase the tunes.

thanks Report
Awesome!! I was glad to see Britt Nicole was on this list. Report
love it! and would like to add royal tailor ready set go and capital kings I feel so alive =) hugs! Report
I have to agree I love the list but would also add KJ-52, and Family Force 5, Dc Talk, etc... Love Newsboys, Toby Mac, Mandisa, Natlie Grant, Mercy Me, Jeremy Camp, Katinas,....Love, Love, Love Christain music Report
While I applaud the intent of this list, it's greatly lacking. These songs may be fine for someone who just walks or does light activity, but for someone like me who trains for half-marathons, these songs are too slow. Though I try to listen to only Christian music, for working out purposes, it's just not possible with mainstream Christian music. I really wish more artists would step up to the plate and make more engaging and lively music as opposed to just the bland music you hear on the radio nowadays. Report
my favorite song is More by Matthew West. When I have a bad day, I turn up the volume and just remember that someone loves me. crazy, I know Report
This new CD is my favorite workout music! Remixes of christian hits.
Please add some Gospel music to this list. Gospel music has a ton of music to workout to, thanks! Report
Great list. I know some of these and will check out the ones I am not familiar with. TobyMac is definitely one of my favorites to listen to when I run. Report
Old hymns ...'When the saints...go marching in..'. If the saints are marching I have to keep up and 'We're marching to Zion' ... again I have to keep marching! Report
Amazing Grace! Thank you! Report
Thanks for offering these for those who prefer this type of music. MercyMe & TobyMac are two of my favorites. I'll show my age and add Petra to the list. No longer recording but you can find their music if you desire it. Blessings! Meg Report
Thank you sooooo much. Many of us on this site do prefer religious music over worldly music. It gives something to everyone. Report
This article is great. In my opinion one of the best music blogs around is artradio. The site contains a fantastic mix of quality music and artwork, it is definitely somewhere that I would recommend visiting. Report
When I click on the Like button for facebook, an ad is in the way so that you have no choice but to click on it, or just forget the "Like". (Can you forward this to the appropriate person?)
EDIT: I see the "like" went through, at least. Report
Thanks! I don't listen to the other types of music/songs that are typically suggested. If I am not listening to conservative talk then I listen to Christian music. Take care. Report
This is awesome! Report
Nice list! Thanks! I have lots of these songs already but some are new to me--awesome! Looking them up on iTunes right now! Report
Add songs by Mary Mary, "God In Me", "Get Up", "Go Get It", and "Walking" and Isaac Carree's "In the Middle". Report
Why religion? Report
Love to run with The Insyderz. Try running to "Awesome God" it's crazy! Report
Music definitely affects my mood. Lately, good songs have helped me do some digging out of my mental "hole". I'm thankful for music that can get to what's inside and speak to it in a way that other things or people cannot. Report
Entire albums of PETER FURLER'S ON FIRE

Music is one thing that is liked by most. I like devotional songs which gives me peace of mind and inspires what ever work I do. . Report
I mainly listen to Contemporary music. I am a Praise singer, so I listen to other christian songs. Report

Some of these I have not heard of before but will give them a try. And I need to add a little gospel to this list. Mary Mary "Get up" and "Sunday Morning" are good ones to workout to also as some by Tye Tribbett. :) Report
I have been using Spark People as a motivation tool for a couple of years. I am a life long Methodist. I am disappointed to see that Spark turns out to be identifying itself as a Christian group. Sorry to see this. Not inclusive as an online Org should be in a multi-cultural world. Report
Love this! Good Morning by Mandisa...YESS!!! Report
Excellent list! Thank you! Report
