Hey, You! Cheer Up!

By , SparkPeople Blogger
A parody, to the tune of Hey, Jude.
Hey you, I know it’s bad,
You’ll have to get strong to make it better,
Remember to always lead with  your heart,
Then you can start to make it better.

Hey you, don't be dismayed,
Your body’s made to go out and move more,
The minute you make sweat come from your skin,
Then you have started to make it better.

And anytime you’re feeling pain,
Hey you refrain,
Don't eat the weight of the world, instead go lighter,
For now you know that it's a Spark,
That lights the dark,
By making his world a little brighter,
Na na na na na
na na na na

Hey you, you’ll never let me down,
You have found Spark, we’re in it together,
Remember to always lead with your heart,
And that Spark can make it better.

So drop the pounds and let Spark in,
Hey you, begin,
Start looking for someone to work out with,
And don't you know that it's just you,
Hey you, you'll have,
The fitness you need to be so much bolder.
Na na na na na
na na na na yeah

Hey you, I know it’s bad,
You’ll have to get strong to make it better
Remember to always lead with  your heart
Then you can start to make it better
Better, better, better, better, better, oh …

What makes you feel better when you're having a bad day?

I just think about all the people I went to school with who have passed away already and would LOVE to live this day, and I am happy to be here. I'm thankful for everyday I have. Report
Dancing always makes me feel better. And creative song/poem writers do too... Report
That I could be worse off and know that there are others who have more problems than me. I love to sing and this song really struck home with me. One of my first 45's purchased by the Beatles when I was a kid (does anyone remember 45's). LOL have a nice day! Report
I force myself to think about the people who are less fortunate than I. Those with no family, no limbs, no safe place to lay their heads.

I think about how truly blessed I am to have healthy children and a 62 year old mother who is in better shape than I am.

I think about all the family members that I have lost and thank God that I get to spend another day with my son.

Something else that helps is reading sparkpeople motivating blogs and reading the posts on my page.

I try to remember that we are only here for a short time, and I need to make the most of my time by kicking sadness to the curb and finding a bright spot in those times. Even if it's just watching reruns of I Love Lucy, or sitting in a park meditating. Report
