    Thanks everyone!

    Hey Mom4:
    Do you do any weight training? Even if you only do push-ups (I do the girlie ones leaning against a wall), planks, lunges, deep knee bends (just not too deep), you can be building muscle! Why is that so important? Because muscle uses lots of energy, ie, burns more fat as you do everyday things.

    Even on day one, I started with my 5 lb. dumbbells and my ankle weights. I was very ungraceful, but I didn't care! Yes, I had an overall layer of fat that hid any muscle I might already have (which I'm thinking I didn't), but I didn't care. My goal was to build as much muscle as possible for me, while I cut back and became smarter at taking care of myself.

    Now with that said, you need to know that while you slowly build that amazing fat-burning muscle, your weight loss seem even slower. Why? Like everyone says "muscle weighs more than fat". But it's worth it!!

    I'm just now, at 30 lbs. lost, starting to see the fruits of all that weight training. I can finally see some muscle definition in my arms, legs, back and even my hips! I FINALLY have a nice curve at the sides of my waist, instead of the proverbial straight up-and-down I have had for so many year. I have a long way to go, but you need to know that even if you don't see it for a while it's there! And the muscle is working for you!

    I'm moving a lot, but I'm not losing a lot. I probably have been two lenient with what I'm allowing myself. I haven't given anything up, but I probably need to be more restrictive. Maybe that chocolate once a month would be a start. I don't drink soda, and I don't like donuts. Thanks for sharing.

    My weight loss has been achieved by MOVING! I do not adhere to any diet or diet philosophy. I eat regular food. I do not have a nutrition expert living in my home; I do not eat fish and almonds everyday. I eat what I want! I eat carbs, protien and fat, and all they while I continue to lose weight. Do not buy into the hype! You do NOT have to suffer through hunger, cravings or deprivation. You do NOT have to buy expensive, organic or special foods to lose weight! I never have and never will.
