Introduction Text 2019 Biggest Loser Swing into Spring Challenge: Personal Goals 1. Be consistent with cardio (minimum 100 minutes weekly) 2. Add strength training to my exercise routine (minimum 30 minutes weekly) 3. Increase freggies to minimum 3 servings daily 4. Increase fiber to 20 - 25 grams daily. My goal is to move intentionally 20-30 minutes daily. I have scoliosis and severe spinal arthritis. I tend to avoid movement because of the pain, but I know that any kind of exercise is a good thing! I think of the trees and how simply they let go, let fall the riches of a season, how without grief (it seems) they can let go and go deep into their roots for renewal and sleep. … Imitate the trees. Learn to lose in order to recover, and remember that nothing stays the same for long, not even pain … Sit it out. Let it all pass. Let it go. ~ May Sarton I feel that this is a new chapter in my life. I'm eager to be a good partner to my husband, including doing what's necessary to insure my continued good health. My current goal is to reach my new maintenance weight of 170 by my 67th Birthday in April.. At the root of many issues is our self-loathing at worst, our self-indifference at best. Food is not the enemy. We are. Break the cycle of dieting and replace it with loving yourself enough to make good choices about your diet. Examine your eating habits this week. Are you honoring your body with your food choices? How can you love yourself back to a healthy relationship with eating? Take steps towards defeating the natural compulsion or craving that might take you down a path of regretful eating. Remember the sacredness of your own skin. In the spirit of developing New Year's Goals, rather than resolutions, here are some goals that can make a real difference in the level of stress you experience, and the quality of life you enjoy: Maintain An Organized Living Space: A cluttered environment can literally drain your energy and cause additional stress! Conversely, a beautifully decorated, soothing environment can be a haven where you can escape from the stressors in your life. Working on de-cluttering your home, getting organized about cleaning, or even practicing Feng Shui are all ways you can work toward the goal of having a beautiful and organized living space. Learn to Organize Your Time: By keeping a schedule, learning to say no to excessive demands on your time, and utilizing shortcuts in your life, you�ll be less frantic, and have more time to do the things that energize and de-stress you. You�ll also have more time to do things that you enjoy in life. Cultivate A Supportive Social Circle: Those with a supportive social circle, or even just one close friend or partner to talk to and lean on in times of crisis, enjoy healthier, less stressful lives. (And they have more fun!) If you make the commitment to meet more people, and better develop the relationships you have, you�ll find that the payoff is more than worth the effort. Take Care of Your Body: If your body is healthy and in good repair, you�re better able to handle stressors in your life. However, an unhealthy body can cause great amounts of additional stress. Eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, getting massages and pampering yourself are all good ways to take care of your body and make stress management easier. Renew Your Spirit: We carry stress in our bodies, and hold it in our minds, so a stressful experience can stay with and keep affecting us after the actual experience has ended. Managing stress in your daily life can be much easier on your mental, physical and emotional state if you take regular breaks from it. There are many great stress-relieving exercises that can help you release both the tension from your body, and the stressful thoughts from your mind, making you more at peace and able to handle the stress that comes in each new day. As you develop these stress-relieving practices in your daily life, you should experience less stress, and be better able to handle the stress you do experience, leading to a happier, more healthy life. My goals include working to lower my blood pressure and cholesterol levels through diet and weight loss. Also, I want to increase my physical activity. Specifically, work towards a 30 min. walk/ride daily, be consistent with stretching throughout the day. I need to add weight bearing exercises to my daily routine since I was recently diagnosed with Osteopenia.

My 2016 5% Fall Challenge goals include: 5-10 minutes daily on the stationary bike. Focus on stretching throughout the day. Morning walks 10-15 minutes. I will weigh weekly on Fridays and record my progress. I need to find a way to add fruits/veggies to my diet without creating gastrointestinal issues. I will also work on increasing my water intake. I will use the Spark tracker to record calories, staying within my calorie range.

I was born in north central California; living in Boise, Idaho. I am Mom to 3 sons ranging in age from 40 to 30. I married the love of my life on July 1st, 2007. Never give up on LOVE! Learn from your mistakes and move on to a better life! We have 4 Grandchildren: ages 15, 13, 10, and 8 years.

I lost 30 lbs. in 2003 with Weight Watchers but have gained back 15. My current goal is to achieve a maintenance weight of 178 by Dec. 31, 2016. UPDATE: I achieved my goal weight of 175 in March, 2016. On to Maintenance... UPDATE: I have gained 10 lbs. in the last 2 years! I'm once again focused on losing the weight. March 29th, 2018 My goal is to lose 9 lbs. during the 2018 Spring 5% Challenge.
