No problem on the laptop answer. I have a laptop for work and travel a LOT, so I know all about hotels, airports, hot spots, etc. T-Mobile even has a page where you can find out where all the local hotspots are. But that service isn't free. And while I have a desktop at home, my husband has a laptop, so our home is set up with a wireless network. I sometimes bring my work laptop home and connect it.

The hardest part of having a lap top is setting up the wireless network and enabling the security (so that your neighbors can't tap into your internet connection). But you can have someone knowledgeable do that part for you. In fact, I recommend it. Enabling the security correctly is very important. Sometimes when I sit in my living room, the signal from the next door neighbor's house is actually stronger than ours. I wouldn't detect it at all if they had their security enabled. So anyone could tap into their internet connection and surf for free if they had a laptop in their car and parked in front of their house.
