I have been hitting the gym lately daily, with one day free a week. I am eating between 1600-1800 calories a day vs. 1200-1500 at the beginning of my program, because now I already lost most of the weight I wanted to lose and I work out everyday, so I do not need to lose more pounds at the current time. My body got used to the amount of calories I am supposed to eat now that I do not even need to track what I eat closely, I only know how to make healthy choices and if at the end of the day I tried to track what I ate for the whole day it never exceeds the amount mentioned above! My body has learnt it..
My very fit guy friend, who also volunteered to be my personal trainer, is teaching me good gym techniques so I give time to all my body muscles to both work and relax, as well as not to over exhaust myself and do everything all together in one gym session.
I do one day cardio, the other strength trainings. As for the strength trainings it alternates, once upper body, the other lower body. It works like magic!
I will write more about gym advice soon that made the gym a very easy thing for me now, it's like FUN if you can believe it!
- Since I have started hitting the gym a lot I noticed a big change in how tuned my arms have became, they are thinner and stronger, same goes for my back, legs, calves, butt and abs (I still have a bit of a problem with my abs thoug). My face has also changed a lot and it is much more defined now!

So now that I officially turned 21, it is true being in shape or losing more than 20 pounds was not one of my 20th birthday wishes, but it was my 2008's new year's resolution. I managed to stick to my resolution with the help of SparkPeople. Now I feel I have totally transformed, I have more self confidence and I have a much more outgoing fun life.
It's all about a few pounds left. Plus I should start hitting the gym often because I need to tune my body.
Hope that by the beginning of 2009 I will be closer to my final aim of transforming into the best shape I can ever be, if not there. And only then I can start enthusiastically taking care of the rest of my life.

I am Amy, 20 Years, I go to college and my major is computer science. I used to be a tennis player and I had a pretty good national ranking in my country, Egypt, but after I got so busy with the college life style and moving to a new very busy city, add to that having an accident I had to stop doing any form of sports. It put me into a depression stage, me being a sports addict. I could not even go to the gym because of my injury. Now that I am healed, I have gained about 22 pounds over this injury year, people always tell me I look fit and wonderful since I am 5'7'' and 154 pounds, but I know it's not who I used to be and I am really annoyed by how I look, I am always worried about how I look, I cannot wear everything I used to wear before, I even avoid going to the beach or swimming pool with friends not to wear a bikini! I need to go back to my healthy life, where exercise is a daily habit, tennis is a passion, and healthy food is my choice. It is hard to do all these while being a Computer Science Senior college student especially that it's too much work in front of the computer, and my living in the dorms makes it harder since I cannot cook home-made food. But I know I can do it, I am here to get back on track to my healthy life!
