I'm ME again!!!

For several years I was trying to hide the weight I was putting on, looking for "easy" ways to lose it... and retreating deeper within myself. I didn't like what I saw in the mirror, but changing it seemed out of my reach.

Then one day something in me just "clicked." I read about some very easy/simple changes I could make and in doing these things I could lose 20 lbs. in a year. I decided I'd give it a try.

I started out with drinking my 8 glasses of water a day, cut out all carbonated beverages, no meals or snacks after 7:30pm, and walking for 30 minutes a week.

Within a few weeks, I had already begun to lose. I was so excited, I decided to step up my game. I cut out all fried foods and pasta and added more fresh fruits and veggies. I was already feeling more energy so I walked faster and farther. It was around this time I stumbled across Spark People, and the rest, (as they say), is history.

I'm VERY excited about my weight loss and healthier lifestyle.

Through Spark People, I've found all the educational and motivational information I needed. Tracking my food and water intake as well as logging exercise has been vital for me. The encouragement I've received from my new friends is an added (and unexpected) blessing.

My life is centered on living for my Creator and serving Him wherever He needs me. I know that my healthier lifestyle is making that even easier than it was before.

I have a wonderful husband (who is the naturalist for our county parks) and an equally wonderful and beautiful daughter who are both very supportive in everything I do.

I am truly blessed.

My Goals:
My goals include being healthier (in all my habits), being more physically active and just enjoying life more.

My Program:
I've really cracked down on what food I even allow in our house so the temptations won't be there. I'm shopping more organic with my foods, now, and have discovered a love for green and oolong teas sweetened with stevia. My main (fun) workout program is gardening and yard work at both of our lake houses. I also do as much of the house maintenance as I can manage by myself. I enjoy hiking and primitive camping. My structured workout consists of a combination of walking, stair climber, and putting miles on my stationary bike.

Personal Information:
I am an artist. (I decided on that career by age 12). I will be 46 years old this year... and like to look and act more like 25. I live on a wooded lake property in northern Indiana. I work with kids and teens in my spare time and love being an inspiration to them. I have an amazing mother who was always just that for me and hundreds of others in the community. She is THE BEST!

Other Information:
I love sculpting, drawing, painting, gardening, reading, animals, restoring my old homes, doing historic re-enactments and research, sewing... (and tons of other things.) I enjoy helping with events through World Vision, American Cancer Society, Girl Scouts and many more.

Hey! Thanks for the comment on my page. I've been MIA for a bit. Long bday weekend and then hurt my knee on Tuesday night. LOL Your job sounds so fun! I have a good job too, it doesn't sound fun but it is. I'm an Executive Assistant at a Truck Broker office. Busy and fun.

I hear about the food...I'm really trying but I think I actually eat better at work than home sometimes. LOL No, I take that back (sometimes) So easy to just eat out and hate every moment of it. I love home-cooked meals. Just lazy sometimes. My husband is the cook and I bake. Well hope you're day is going well and we both stay on track today. Stay in touch :)
