Hi, I'm Alexandra, also called Amaranth online, and I've been on this website since June 2008. Unfortunately the first time and many after those it didn't quite work, but one of the things I've learned on here is never give up. So, always restarting, always trying again. I'm working on getting my eating under control with my therapist and have recently given up diet soda, which helped with cravings. I am doing a keto diet on days I can avoid binges.

I live in Salem, Oregon and my hobbies are reading books, re-enacting (SCA) roleplaying (mushes and Amtgard) and playing music. I also write songs and do a lot of other creative stuff.

I work at a local Department of the State and deal with some mental health issues like PTSD and a Dissociation Disorder and on the physical front I deal with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Diabetes. Sometimes that makes exercising really difficult but when I'm doing well enough I bicycle to work on an electric bike and that makes a huge difference!

    I've come and gone with spark people - I love the page - but got sidetracked with mom's illness and other family issues. I finally decided to come back to make me healthier. I'm on week three of exercising 5 days a week for thirty minutes and doing low carb. I know you can do this - because I know I will.
