9700+ miles on a motorcycle. Portland to Rancho Cucamonga, via Death Valley, to Washington DC. Visited some friends I knew on The Vietnam Wall Memorial then headed home on Hwy I-70. Long trip and swore an oath to my wife I will "Never do this again!!" Hit me in the head with a 2 X 4 if I "ever" bring up the subject. Needless to say, I broke the oath and she didn't hit me in the head with a 2 X 4. I started planning my trip for this year about 2 weeks after making that statement. It really takes a lot out of a person physically and emotionally. The ride is with 500+ other bikers and a very grueling trip. We eventually join up with another group of 500,000 motorcyclist called Rolling Thunder for a parade through Washington DC and ends at the Vietnam Wall Memorial. Took 25 days round trip. But I have to say a very rewarding trip. Our motto for the Run For The Wall is: We ride for those who can't" because that is what we do, we ride with respect.

Wow, that sounds like an amazing trip! Did you do it on a motorcycle?

Las Cruces is a really nice area. It was among many of our stops on the official Run For The Wall. I made it "All the Way from the beginning Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. to Washington DC to visit the Vietnam Wall. I plan on doing the trip again this year and take more time to look around the area.

Oh how fun, we've got some geographical coincidences! I lived in the Portland area for 7 years, and also notice your picture from Las Cruces...my partner grew up there and I love going there to visit his family and to eat the fantastic food! We've also been out to the Air Force Base by Alamogordo, right next to the White Sands monument area. It's really amazing.
