I am an addict. As such, it is crucial that I set boundaries to keep me from falling prey. I engage in encouragement and support regularly and seek the same. In order to not fall victim to my drugs of choice yet again, I must be active in the fight against my addictive, maladaptive and isolating natures.

That's where SparkPeople comes in these days, along with OA and working the 12 steps, one day at a time.

THEN I STOPPED FOR ALMOST A YEAR- GAINING HALF THE WEIGHT BACK.

Until I eventually began an abstinence in OA.



My Program:
1. Create an entire menu of staple meals that I love to eat and that are easy to make/prep in advance.

2. Pay attention to portions. Count calories. Measure/weigh food to become aware of how much I eat--NOT to restrict--but to encourage mindfulness.

3. Alternatives. Some foods are too hard not to overeat. I can eat them in moderation (occasionally) when out, but for home, I'm seeking alternatives to satisfy me that are not "diet" foods.

4. Be active daily. Usually a walk, for me and Jack (dog). When my breasts are smaller, I think I'd like to try running.

5. Seek support. I'm delighted to have found SP and hope to find others in the SF Bay area to be active with.

    thanks for commenting on my blog! the good news is that I didn't have to resist because I was so full from my dinner! I just had one taste of ice cream so I didn't feel like I was missing anything. We had a great night out!

    Hey Beautiful!!! I stopped by to say that all is well!! I'm still in love with running and eating healthy...LOL!! It's my only way to remain sane. Everything in my personal life is going with the flow. Me and my husband haven't killed each other, the kids are great and they haven't attempted to kill each other and I'm not miserable about my weight anymore, but I am MISERABLE at work!! I've got to find a new job!!! I hope all is well with you! I see the scale is moving in the right direction!! YAY!!!! I'm going to check out OA! It sounds interesting!

    Thanks for stopping by a while back! I am fully recovered from all 3 surgeries and have the ok to start full blown activity again. Yay!!!! I'm so glad to see you here. your last picture looks fantastic!
