LOSING IT - WEIGHT THAT IS!
**UPDATE** I started running in February of 2009 and I love it. I have completed numerous 5Ks, 10Ks and four half marathons. I struggle to stay motivated....
I am 53 years old and have struggled with my weight all my life. I have 100 pounds to lose. I need all the encouragement I can get.
I am married to a wonderful man and together we have four grown children. I am a recovered addict and my obsession with drugs and alcohol was removed by God over 18 years ...

I am married to a wonderful man and together we have four grown children. I am a recovered addict and my obsession with drugs and alcohol was removed by God over 18 years ago. I have not had a drink or drug since. I think sometimes I substituted my drug addiction for a food addiction but honestly, I have had this weight problem all my life, even before the drugs. As a child my family loved to eat and we celebrated everything with food. Needless to say, I learned quickly how to comfort myself with food.
In my late 20's I lost down to 128 and after starting on a downward spiral with the alcohol and drugs I gained over 50 pounds and then after a divorce and remarriage I gained another 50! Ouch!

FAV QUOTES:
"The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start."
~ John Bingham, running speaker and writer
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Winning has nothing to do with racing. Most days don't have races anyway. Winning is about struggle and effort and optimism and never, ever, ever giving up."
~ Amby Burfoot.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Striving for perfection is the greatest stopper there is....It's your excuse to yourself for not doing anything. Instead, strive for excellence, doing your best."
~ Sir Laurence Olivier
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle when the sun comes up you'd better be running.
(But, unless you're a runner, you won't understand.)
~ Anon
It won't always be easy. Lots of people want to lose weight, but most aren't willing to pay the price or make sacrifices to get there. You will not be successful with a half-hearted effort or by looking for shortcuts or the easy way out.
~ Jason Anderson, personal trainer.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You can’t become a winner overnight or even in a couple of years - it takes time …You will lose races and you will have to accept that, learn from it and believe that you will win the next one, knowing that you will probably lose that as well. All the time you have to keep believing that one day you will win.
