Hi and thanks for visiting my page. This year marks 10 years that I started SP. I originally hit a 85lbs weight loss but did not hit my 110lbs goal. I have gone up and down during the years but this is the highest weight I have been since I lost weight on SP. I am an extremely emotional person, I can pick up others emotions which is very difficult for me to keep my emotions on check. I know that my weight has been a side effect of all the loss and struggles I have gone through in my life. I started on a spiritual journey almost three years ago and I have been seeking my healing. I am a believer and I know this is a process God has me on. I know it won't be easy and I know I will face fears and situations from my past that I will not like. I have already confronted a few. Right at this moment I am probably facing the most difficult time in my life. I'm almost 35 and people start dying in your family and parents start to come dependent, I also have three children of my own and I am pursuing my BA, so life is full! But in the midst of this pain (I recently lost a loved one) I have decided that I will turn it into purpose. It's time I face my fears and take care of unfinished business. I am not as strong as I felt 10 years ago but then again when I started before I had never worked out or calorie counted a day in my life so I know I shouldn't be so hard on myself. This is a new stage for me in my life, my children are a little older and I am single, so I am on a journey of just starting to figure out what I like and what I want for my life. I became a spark people motivator in 2008 I believe, I love to help people Especially if I can avoid them going through the same struggles I have gone through. I like to help because I know what pain feels like. I know there is a purpose to all of this, I want to inspire and motivate I guess my first task is to inspire and motivate myself. So thank you for reading! I am the first to tell you that this can be achieved. That it is literally a battle of the mind and a shift in your thinking,. It is not easy but it can be done. Start small!!!!

Kirk Franklin-Hero, the whole cd has me kicking butt on the eliptical.

Shakira-OMG I love her. I have everyone of her cd's on my ipod. I can't get enough. Her afro-punk remix always gets me pumping

Mana-Right now I listen to their new one, but I love them, old or new.

Alicia Keys-Her new cd has several songs I like to workout to.

Luis Miguel-I can't help it, I'm a hopeless romantic

Laura Pausini-I don't know what cd it is but it's like one of the first one's. She rocks!

Anthony Hamilton-I love all of his music

    Thank you for the encouragement! It is always nice to have people to talk to who are in similar situations! I have really enjoied my first two days here on SP and really look forward to loosing this weight! I never though I would find so much comfort in chatting with others about my weight issues...but I am feeling SO encouraged..I hope you are too! and the same invite goes to you...if you ever wanna chat about whatever just drop me a line....I'm a stay at home mom ( kinda...I work part time at night) so I'm on the puter alot...and I have Yahoo Messenger too...kinda faster than postings... dig_humor_20 is my user...if you have Yahoo too you can always chat with me there too!

    I usually walk by myself when I do the 5K's - I asked Alex one time if he wanted to go and he found out I was going to be walking for like 45 minutes and he didn't want to go anymore, ha ha. I go to mapmyrun.com and pick a route each time I do it (I have 3 so far), and then print out the page for a map and walk it. I just try to do it a little bit faster each time and to run a little more of it, I walk most and run a little bit (70 minutes April 1st) and see if it seems easier and then on the 04/15 & 04/28 ones I'm going to walk/jog it.

    My name's Stephanie - nice to meet you! :) I posted on that thread you started about the buddy, I think we should start saying what our goals are for the week, & check up with each other every couple of days. I'm training for some 5k's (and a 10K end of May) so my goals are to walk 30 minutes a day (or average that in a week in case I skip a day b/c of weather, etc). and start staying within my calorie range (I'm usually a good 400-500 over at minimum).
