I did so well on Spark People for a year and then as I have done in the past I let life get in the way of my health.

I now feel it is critical for me to lose. Suddenly I feel if I don't do something now my heath is in real jeopardy. When we are feeling fairly healthy and have gotten away with bad eating habits we let all those excuses get in the way of dealing with our weight.

All in all I know that I can do this if I choose to. I remember once hearing Dr Phil say you continue to do things the same way if you are getting something out of it. Let us all look deeply into whatever it is we are getting from overeating. Whether it be comfort food, control or the pleasure of eating foods we like. We can control this if we set our minds.

I am now facing bad labs. I am very close to Diabetic and my doctor will check again in 4 months. I think she is willing to work with me to get them down but I think she doesn't expect progress next time. But I know I will make great strides. This is serious. I do not want to be Diabetic.

I lost 3 today. That is 6 in the past two weeks. I can do this. It is only food!

Track my food daily

Stay within my calorie range

Exercise 40 minutes 4 times a week

Set goals

Drink my 10 glasses of water a day

Rid my house of clutter by getting rid of five unneeded items a day

Work daily on my to do list. It keeps me occupied and out of the kitchen

Work on my quilting daily. Sew, cut or plan. Work on UFOs

Personal Information:
I am retired and living in Oklahoma. I have traveled extensively. I have been married for 48 years to the love of my life. I have three adult children and six wonderful grandchildren.

Other Information:
I like to read and am an avid quilter. Family and friends are important to me.

I am a romantic.

DH and I are remodeling four houses! Not including one we recently bought in Milton Fl. We are trying to get the ones in OK done so we can move to Florida.

I love Spark People and have met so many wonderful people here.

    My grandson gave me his virus, and between the coughing, sneezing, and wheezing, I'll probably end up staying home for thanksgiving instead of going to my son's this year. The last thing I want to do is to spread this to everyone else! Hubby says he feels bad about going without me, but I said I WANT him to go. I'll probably just rest anyway and enjoy my hot chicken noodle soup, plus who else is going to bring me back some leftovers?

    No party. Haven't had one for 3 years, basically since I started watching my grandson. Just can't seem to get ready for it. A friend threw it at her house and I helped a bit.

    We only had 16 kids show up. I used to just let the kids pick out several items, but after realizing I had a bunch of halloween goodie bags, I decided to just stuff them all. Each had 5 items, one being either a reeses or a plain M&Ms (for any with peanut allergies or just those who prefer them to reeses. Other items were full size lifesavers roll, candy bracelet, and 2 packages of fun dip. I didn't have enough swedish fish and sour patch kids for all the bags, and figured I wouldn't have enough kids show up for all the bags, so I handed them one package of each plus a tootsie pop - 8 items total. I think next year I'm just going to give out full size candybars, one for each kid. Will end up being cheaper than 4 fun size bars each!

    Good for you.... staying home and getting some rest. Your husband, you and your other son are doing a lot to get your other son's home livable.
