I did so well on Spark People for a year and then as I have done in the past I let life get in the way of my health.

I now feel it is critical for me to lose. Suddenly I feel if I don't do something now my heath is in real jeopardy. When we are feeling fairly healthy and have gotten away with bad eating habits we let all those excuses get in the way of dealing with our weight.

All in all I know that I can do this if I choose to. I remember once hearing Dr Phil say you continue to do things the same way if you are getting something out of it. Let us all look deeply into whatever it is we are getting from overeating. Whether it be comfort food, control or the pleasure of eating foods we like. We can control this if we set our minds.

I am now facing bad labs. I am very close to Diabetic and my doctor will check again in 4 months. I think she is willing to work with me to get them down but I think she doesn't expect progress next time. But I know I will make great strides. This is serious. I do not want to be Diabetic.

I lost 3 today. That is 6 in the past two weeks. I can do this. It is only food!

Exercise 40 minutes 4 times a week

Drink my 10 glasses of water a day

Rid my house of clutter by getting rid of five unneeded items a day

Work daily on my to do list. It keeps me occupied and out of the kitchen

Work on my quilting daily. Sew, cut or plan. Work on UFOs

Personal Information:
I am retired and living in Oklahoma. I have traveled extensively. I have been married for 48 years to the love of my life. I have three adult children and six wonderful grandchildren.

Other Information:
I like to read and am an avid quilter. Family and friends are important to me.

I am a romantic.

DH and I are remodeling four houses! Not including one we recently bought in Milton Fl. We are trying to get the ones in OK done so we can move to Florida.

I love Spark People and have met so many wonderful people here.

    I've tried gym nemberships. I don't do them well. I liked Curves but that closed. So, I sm down to walking the dog and line dancing. I am trying to push myself toward the pool for exercises in the pool. Hugs emoticon

    Summer is officially over for me. Watched grandson yesterday while my daughter had a morning meeting at school and then had to try and get her classroom ready. Had him again today while she went to a play put on by some former students. And Monday she has a doctor's appointment so I will have him for a couple hours then. And Tuesday she starts back to school, though the students don't start until Wednesday.
    Personally I feel that starting school in the middle of August is way too soon, bordering on ridiculous! We always used to start after Labor Day, but the week before Labor Day might be acceptable if need be to get in the required number of days school needs to be in session without having to end in mid-June either.

    I'm staying inside as much as I can with this heat.

    It is hard to leave windows open these evenings. With the world the way it is you never know. I do love to open them during the day though.

    It is in the mid 90s until Tuesday then back up to 104 again! The ground is starting to crack.
