Hi there, I'm so glad you are back again. I know it's hard sometimes to keep up with Spark. I've been absent a lot over the last 6 months or so. Life events just getting in the way I guess. I'm currently in the Midwest on a visit and I think I've overstayed!! Tomorrow I need to decide to either cancel my flight or make the 75 mile trip to the airport. It all depends on how snowstorm Astro tracks. Good to see you back! 2260 days ago

Hi Cassie thank you for the nice comment and the update on your health and activity. I too haven't been active on Sparkpeople for quite a while...maybe a couple of years. You have encouraged me to at least start checking in here on good people like yourself. I'm sorry to hear about your diabetes, and your problem with accepting it. I'd be in denial too. I feel totally inadequate to offer any advice but I will offer encouragement. I know it's easy to say but you need to accept the fact that you have diabetes. And the best way to combat that or any other physical problem we have is the way we eat. I continue to watch the Biggest Loser and they seem to always gloss over the most important part of losing weight and being healthy. Exercise is great and we all should engage in it as much as we can. But the most important thing is to eat right. I'm saying this to myself as well as to you because I've been failing miserably at this task. We really are only as healthy as our diet allows us to be. So I encourage you to really examine the things you choose to eat...and I encourage myself to do the same. Thank you again and I wish you nothing but a successful journey. We must remember that health and life is a journey and not a destination. If we think we've arrived we're just fooling ourselves. It's a process that's always ongoing. Keep the faith my friend.
