Project 175
My weight has been a struggle during the last 5 or so years and I am on a mission to get healthy. It's been such a long time since I've really looked good and been at a healthy weight, that I honestly think I've forgotten how amazing it feels to look great and feel good in my own skin, so unfortunately I've become complacent with the status quo.

My Goals:
To be concise, my main goal is to lose 61 lbs total.
My first goal will be to lose 10 lbs total in the month of August (2 lbs x 5 weeks in August) and 8 lbs in September (2 lbs x 4 weeks) for a total of 18 lbs lost.
My second goal will be to lose 20 lbs during October, November and December (just over 1.5 lbs a week on average), which will put me back at the weight I was when my now-husband returned frfom Afghanistan almost 2 years ago.
My final goal will be to lose the last 24 lbs during January, February, March and April 2012 (1.5 lbs per week on average) to get to my final goal of 175. I'm 5'9", so that's at the high end of a normal, healthy weight for me. I am a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding in mid-June, so obviously I would also like to look good for her big day!
My indefinite goal is to continue running, throughout the rest of summer, through fall, through winter. I am so proud of becoming a runner and I don't want to lose that. I pla
My Program:
South Beach-style eating program, staying at 1200 calories and alternating running and Jillian Michaels DVD's 6 days a week. I've been doing the same exercise program and eating 1500-1700 calories a day for the past month or so and I actually gained weight, so I will go lower for the next month and see how that works. I'll adjust as necessary.
Personal Information:
Despite what all my best girlfriends assured me (that I would lose weight naturally as my wedding date approached due to stress), I actually went the other direction and gained even more weight - I am now the heaviest I have ever been in my life :(
I *am* very grateful for some achievements I've reached this year however, including running my first-ever 5k, another 5k, running 5 miles for the first time ever and then running a 10k in May for the first time ever. I'm still running, which I'm proud of! That's also a first :) So in spite of the fact that I've gained more weight, I've also reached some running goals that I've never done before and I'm proud of that.
Now to lose the weight....
Other Information:
There's been a lot of settling this year...settling into our new house, settling into our relationship and finding our groove after he got back from Iraq/Afghanistan, settling into both of our jobs, a new dog, a jealous "I was here before you" dog, everything this year has really been about getting things figured out, squared away and grooved into :) Now that we've found our pace in life, the hubby and I are both recommitting to our health since we've let ourselves go in persuit of all our aforementioned settlings.
