I'm Michelle - here to lose weight/change my lifestyle for good. I don't tend to eat horribly, but I could definitely get out and move around more than I do. (I'm a total internet addict, and having hypothyroidism, that doesn't help the already slow metabolism...)

I have recently gotten a new job (within the last three months) and instead of sitting at a desk 40 hours a week like I used to, I walk about 10-15 miles each day and am constantly active. I love that I'm no longer in a sedentary work environment, and have lost 20 lbs since starting the job.

I'm here for motivation. To get some ideas on what other activities I can be doing. I can not afford a gym membership, so I'd like to find inexpensive and fun ways to work out and stay active outside of the workplace.

When I started on this site back in '07, I weighed 270 lbs @ 5'3". I'm currently down to 205 and have been back and forth between 195-225 in the past six months.

My short term goal is to get out of this cycle and get below 195.

I live by this quote. It's so very true - and aside from cooking, it's what I do regardless of mood.



I'm not your typical 22 year old. For one - I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up, and I'm still not sure where I want to go to college. I've been 3 places and have yet to settle anywhere. I just take classes here and there because I love to learn and don't want to take off completely - or I'll never go back full time.



I don't spend my weekends drunk at a bar - but more so love to have a few drinks with friends in a cozy, quiet restaurant. I hate small talk - but I love to talk. I make people laugh...and I'm still not quite sure why or how....



I'm a bit quirky - but, it works for me.

    I applaud you for making the choice of a healthy lifestyle while you are still so young to truly appreciate it. My heart goes out to young people who struggle so when their lives could be so much more enjoyable. It's so difficult. Sparkpeople is a wonderful place for inspiration and motivation! I hope you find this place as helpful as I have. It sounds like you've got the inner "grit" to make to happen.
