Hey guys! I am pretty new to SparkPeople but NO STRANGER to wEiGhT sTrUgGLeS!! I am a 23 year old Communication student who is on the journey to a better life all around. I recently lost over 30 pounds but still have about 15 or so to go. My current weight is 142 lbs. and my top weight was 183 lbs. (Yikes!)

I could really use the motivation of y'all who are on the same journey towards weight loss, getting healthier, and/or simply moving in the direction of a more fabulous lifestyle for yourself. We weren't meant to do this thing called 'life' alone...we can absolutely do this together!!!

Feel free to contact me anytime...I always appreciate a kind word or inspiring message/story/quote! Above that though, I was put on this earth to do God's will. That means I have been blessed enough to get to use my experience to help others improve their quality of life. I LOVE inspiring others to think outside the box and get them to believe that they can achieve the seemingly unachievable. If you are stuck in a big fat rut (pun intended), do not hesitate to contact me and I will do whatever I can to help inspire you. I'm an open book and totally willing to help--just ask!

Fitness Minutes: 578

My Goals:
With respect to exercise, lately I have been doing weights and abs 1-2 times per week and cardio 2-4 times per week. My goal is to increase my weights & abs to 3 times per week and my cardio to a minimim of 30 mins. 5 times a week.

After I have achieved my goal weight, my goal is to keep it there (obviously, lol) and spread the spark! I want to encourage other people that they can do it too! And the journey to get there is TOTALLY *doable*!!!

If I can do it, A-N-Ybody can do it!!!

YOU *CAN* DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Besides, with GOD, ANYTHING is possible!!! :0)


My Program:
I used to do a 12-step program for eating issues, which helped me a TON. Today, I am doing something which I NEVER EVER EVER in a million years thought I could do which is eating no flour or sugar (w/ minor exceptions). I feel amaaaaaazing and actually do not miss the flour or sugar!! Those products are so addicting and just kept setting me up to fail time and time again to want more! And it was never enough. Currently, I am overcoming a quantities obstacle--of too many fruits/veggies/protein/dairy. And although I still have at least 10 more pounds to go, I am sooooo grateful for my journey and that it has lead me to be free from the addiction of flour and sugar today.

    Thank you Lauren for the prayer and encouragement about walking. It is a prayer I will use whenever I feel I don't want to do it. It truely is a blessing to be able to get out there and walk.Thank you and God bless.

    ps Yes, I did go down 7lbs in one night - it is amazing how much water we can hold onto sometimes. No wonder the rings seem to choke the fingers sometimes.

    Lauren, it was my pleasure to comment on your blog. I have a terrible time with food as well. It's a love/hate relationship! I get so frustrated cuz I get so hungry and feel so deprived. That's when I realize that I'm not doing myself any good and need to allow myself a little treat or I'll never succeed. I hope you woke up this morning re-motivated and energized! emoticon
