Hello I am Jamie, I'm Australian, vegan, and trying to get to a healthy weight. I have been overweight for most of my life, but am now trying to work harder and smarter to finally lose weight so that I can be more healthy. Hello I am Jamie, I'm Australian, vegan, and trying to get to a healthy weight. I have been overweight for most of my life, but am now trying to work harder and smarter to finally lose weight so that I can be more healthy. I have always struggled to lose weight, despite mostly eating a healthy vegan wholefoods diet with very little cake or beer, ;) and for periods on and off of being a regular exerciser.
I am now aiming for 1300-1700 calories a day, and trying to include at least an additional 15 minutes of exercise daily (I already walk for at least 45 mins most work days, getting to and from work).
I've had great success with Sparkpeople previously - I lost about 5 kilos - but I took a 'week off' of tracking my food, which turned into two weeks, which turned into... no longer tracking, and then pretty much going back to old ways. I think that tracking the food I'm eating, and seeing the nutritional info stats, is the most motivating of all of the healthy-eating tools I've tried. The challenge of meeting the daily goals really gets my interest, and wanting to indulge in my junky cravings comes behind wanting to win my daily diet challenge.

My Goals:
Overall, I want to reach a healthy weight range.
Mini goals:
-Eat at least 5 servings of vegetables every day.
-Indulge in delicious teas instead of sugary sweets.
-Incorporate a new-to-me 'superfood' into my menu at least once each week.
-Do something fun every day.
-Increase my activity levels every day.
My Program:
Generally following along with the concept of the Eat to Live program, but choosing more of my preferred foods over strictly sticking to the program, so that I have a better chance of staying on track long term!
Personal Information:
Have been vegetarian for the past 10 years, vegan for around the last 5 of those. My husband (mostly vegan, else vegetarian) is also following my diet with me.
