I'm an expat in Australia, the most beautiful country in the world. So my opinion goes. :) I came here to do my first degree a few years back, but ended up being snagged by a dinky-di larrikin. Is Australia all it's cracked up to be? Yup. We have crocodiles sunning out in our backyards and I ride kangaroos to the grocery stores everyday. Believe everything you hear about Australia, folks! :P

I'm 24 years old, postgrad student and love life. :) Therefore, you'll mostly read my blog entries where I'm chirpy and happy. I do have my ups and downs...I'm just determined to have more ups than downs!

Why I'm here:
I never really had major issues with my weight before, that is why you won't hear me writing a whole lot about calorie counting etc. I do believe in it, and that it works, I just don't like it. And my philosophy is, if I'm not going to like it, I shouldn't force myself to it. I make up by finding ways to compensate such as using portion control and move, move, move!

Over the past 10 years, recent developments in family situation have prompted me to look at myself carefully. Heart diseases and diabetes runs in the family for generations. I'm not surprised, seeing how blase we are about our weight. Every death in my family, except two, since I was 12 have all been weight related.

I know as human we all have to die at one stage. But I prefer it to be age-related, not weight-related. I want to live til a ripe old age and still do aerobics. I want to still have my own set of teeth to eat corn-on-cob. I want to be able to run around chasing my great grandchildren around the backyard, and still be energetic enough to feed them 10 times a day (oops!).

Recently as well I have back and leg pain. Never had it looked at but I have this nagging suspicion it has a lot to do with the extra weight I'm carrying. I'm 154cm and weigh 68-70kg (it varies depending on how stressful University get!) when I should be weighting 55kg. So that's 15kg extra I put on my poor legs.

My Program:
Move, move, move and move! At least, that's my program for now because I love my food too much.

Oh, ok. Maybe I should add "choose better food" to this too. This way I can still love my food, but love the good ones more!
