Just wanted to stop by and say emoticon As I perused your page I realized we have similar situations. Last August I was told I was pre-diabetic and put on medication. I wasn't at all surprised with the diagnosis after all I read and I'm a nursing student. Being morbidly overweight takes a tole on the body. I was 317 pounds at the time. During the appt my doc also told me just losing 10% of my bodywt could make a difference. I left the office dejected and resigned to taking the medication. Well it turns out the medication made me really ill. For two weeks my stomach burned and I was nauseous. I could have returned to the doc for another prescription, but I don't like going to the doctor and just couldn't bring myself to do it. I oped instead to try to lose a little bit. The 10% she mentioned was my goal. I started walking 3 times a week and it started to feel good. I found SP. I started thinking about riding my bike. I rode my bike and enjoyed it. The wt was coming off and I was feeling good. Then winter snow came and I was stuck with no way to exercise. I considered a gym, joined one, and it took me two weeks to actually go. Now I enjoy it.

I just want to encourage you to fight the good battle. You are worth it. Right this very minute the beautiful person you are is trapped in a body that makes everything difficult. Food seems like a friend but we both know it is not. Track your food. Read and post to the blogs and message boards. Let people help you on this journey. It takes a while but it does get easier. I would love to be your friend in this journey and share our successes and our mistakes.

    Spark on!
