After a long Summer of eating and drinking by the pool, beach, lake, and river I am ready to lose ten pounds. I know that weightloss goals should be health oriented, but the truth is that there is this dress I want to fit into by September 12.

    It is hot hot hot in Illinois... aside from the 90% humidity and 9 inches of rain in the past 48 hours. Nothing halfway. Haha!

    Taking pictures of my solitary bike pointing off into the biking unknown is my new thing. It's my bike porn. I've decided to do that every time I go some place new--eventually, I could put a little album together, kind of like a baby book! :-)

    I showed #1 son all his pictures and mine when he got home from school yesterday. He saw the one of the "spider" and it's prey (which by the way, was a really cool irredescent beetle. I hoped to get the sun glinting off his dead husk of a body--tee hee--but the spider kept turning) and told me that it wasn't a spider. What looks like front legs are really antennae. Anyway, I took him out to the garden and we found two--they are called assassin bugs, evidently. They inject a straw of sorts into their prey and suck out the insides. Yum! :-) Whatever they are, I am glad they are defending my tomatoes!
