Looking back as early as 8yrs old, I remember feeling the desire to loose weight. It has been the story of my life. For a very brief moment in time I managed to get close to a normal weight but never have maintained it for even a full year. In a meeting the other day I mentioned that I have lost 700 lbs and everyone giggled. But it feels like the truth.

The most recent weight loss journey started in 2001, I lost 85 lbs and was 60 lbs from my goal when I turned around and gained 75 lbs back.

My new goal is to try and not be cynical of the past weight loss. Just get started again. I am still not sure what derails my process. You would think after 4 yrs of exercise and eating right it would be ingrained, but today it seems it was pretty easy to fall right back into bad habits.

On a positive note, I know how to eat right, I know that exercise makes me feel better, so hopefully as I start my new journey with SP I will find the last link that keeps me focused and moving towards the goal of living a healthy life. I hate being restricted by my weight and the negative emotions that comes along with it.

Today I am loving this SP site, bought the Spark book and I will start today with my exercise streak and be determined to figure out why I sabotage myself when I get close to reaching my goals.

Fitness Minutes: 1,915

My Goals:
Drink a min. of 8 glasses of water everyday

Walk or ride bike min 15 min a day unless I do water aerobics for 60 min

Eat more than 5 fruits and veggies everyday!

7+ hrs of sleep each night

Visit Spark People everyday for motivation and accountability

My Program:
1600-1800 calories per day

drink water all day long

3-4 water aerobics classes each week

walk or ride stationary bike when not doing water aerobics that day

track my food in SP

stay motivated

    I figured it was time to start getting healthy, so perhaps when I'm older I won't have to worry about it as much, haha. That sounds lovely, I'll have to check out the FB group! And I shall definitely try to show up at the convention, one should never turn down information for better living! emoticon

    Thanks for stopping by my page and for joining East Tennessee Sparkers. I am here, and your message reminded me to pick up the pace on the Sparkers page. I've been a bad leader...but haven't gotten much response when I am a more active leader, so when work and life got busy I didn't pop in as often as I should. If you're interested in helping with leadership, I'm always open to having help. I like the idea of doing a Spark event at the Healthy Living Expo in January. Do post more about it on the team pages.

    Thank you for your comments on my blog I noticed you have arthritis too ,I broke my legs and my arm and my back in an accident so I got arthritis in spades and the idea for the push yourself blog came from the fact that the people who keep doing things with arthritis do much better than those who sit down and give up !

    I have this bad habit where I get too energetic and do too much at once, focus on too much at once, plan too many things at once. Then I'm exhausted, naturally.
