I am having some health issues that have left me quite at odds with myself as most of it is within my control. I have TYPE II Diabetes and I have allowed my A1c to get way to high and I began having lightheadedness leading to falls. My good and patient Doctor has increased my meds (that I wasn't taking properly) to triple the dose and I will probably be on insulin by weeks end. I feel ashamed and stupid for allowing this. Soooooo! Today I start following a food plan and taking my meds as prescribed. As a starting line my goal is to get my A1c from 11.9 to below 7.0. My goal weight is 150 and I currently weigh 276. I want to live I want to stop falling I want to obedience train my puppy I want to get through my days not feeling tired sore and weak. I want to meet people that inspire me and I want to be an inspiration to others to be the best they can be. Short Bio Married 49 years to that handsome guy in my profile pic I have 2 grown children a girl 45 and a boy 44 I have 4 grandchildren and one great grandchild ages 27, 23, 12, 7 and 3 I am approaching my 66th birthday I am retired from being a credentialed early childhood teacher. Before that I worked as a Floral Designer for Michael's and as a Registered Veterinary Technician for VCA and Banfield. I love really getting to know people and having deep meaningful conversation. I am a Survivor of Child Sexual Abuse and have been in therapy with a mental health professional for 6 years. In those 6 years I have learned to cope with the big and little stresses in my life but somehow I fall short when it comes to self care and today is the day I start. ๐Ÿ’ž

    Itโ€™s cold outside, but Spring is coming! Are you ready to join a Challenge? The Biggest Loser Challenge is looking for members for itโ€™s next Challenge starting the first week of March. The challenge consists of 11 Teams, that participate in 10 weeks of Nutritional and Fitness Challenges. These challenges can be modified to fit individual needs, allowing members of all abilities and dietary needs to participate.
