I'm happily married for 42 years. My husband is my rock and my support system. I have had some serious health challenges lately. I had to have a new heart valve put in my chest. The Doctor was able to do it through a procedure called TAVR. He did not need to do open heart surgery, he was able to go through an artery in my leg. I had a miraculous recovery after that procedure. During the pre-testing for that surgery, it was discovered that I had a mass on my left kidney. Nine months later, I was able to go off my blood thinners long enough to have the mass removed. It is kidney cancer, Stage 1, Grade 2. He said the blood margins indicate he got it all out, but yet he says I have kidney cancer. I have since changed to a new Urologist for a second opinion. I have not been sleeping well since my surgery, and this is without a doubt the worst recovery I've ever experienced. I have been so very depressed, and it's time for me to get back to the basics of my healthy lifestyle, including exercising. I'm starting over now at 160 pounds, and a determination I've never had before.

My Goals:
I will focus on me and get back on track with my healthy eating and my exercise routine, so that I can lose the rest of my weight.

I am going to stop crazy snacking in the evenings.

I am going to eat healthier types of food including more fruit and vegetables.

I am trying to eat smaller meals so that I can give my stomach more time to digest them properly.

I am going to eat slower so I can feel fuller sooner and not overeat.

I want to get better sleep at night.

I want to be even more healthy than I am now.

I want to inspire others to live a healthier lifestyle.

I keep track of everything I eat, drink and do on my daily planner.

I want to keep my brain active and healthy to avoid dementia (like my Mom died from).

I want to not have any surgeries in 2021.

My Program:
I am logging everything I eat and drink onto my food tracker and I have begun to eat healthier.

I am on a low sodium eating plan to help protect my heart.

I need to focus on my exercise program and get some kind of exercise every day to get my mindset ready to have a regular exercise routine.

Every time I feel like I need to get something to eat, but I'm not really hungry, I will focus my attention on something else to get my thoughts of of crazy snacking in the evenings.

Other Information:
I rode a horse on the beach and I swam with dolphins in Florida as a reward for doing so well on SparkPeople the first time. These are things I always wanted to do but never had the confidence to do before losing 60 pounds.
