I decided to start anew and reset my goal ticker again in 2016. I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and some heart issues. As of Jan. 2014, they are all under control with medication. Hopefully, by losing more weight, I can eventually cut down on some meds. 2014 ended on a bad note when my dad passed away in November. 2015 was the Year of the Concert for me & my husband. Continuing into 2016 and 2017!

I have kept off 45 lbs. and am happy to be under 200 lbs. Thanks to SparkPeople, I have the tools and the will power to do it! And, most of all, the support!

My Goals:
I want to lose weight and get fit! I want to be able to stop some of the medication if I eat better and improve my health.

I want to live to see grandchildren!

My Program:
I will exercise 5 times per week and try to fit in little "mini sessions" whenever I can. I am committing to at least 25 minutes a day. NO computer time until the exercise is done!

I will not give in to emotional eating as I have done so many times in the past.

I will NOT eat past 9 PM.

I will plan my meals and track every little bite! If I ate it, I have to own up to it!

Personal Information:
I am happily married to my high school sweetheart for 39 years. We have 2 adult sons.

I have lived on Long Island (NY) all of my life.

I hope to move to VA or NC when I retire. Or maybe CA near our older son.

Other Information:
I love reading Stephen King novels. Own most of them!

I enjoy sitting outside on my deck and walking by the lake in the preserve nearby. Watch Yankee baseball and like hockey too.

I like listening to a variety of music - I especially love The Cure, Usher, Ne-Yo, Lady Gaga, Steely Dan, Mary J. Blige, Elton John and I'm a huge John Lennon fan too.

Wow! You're making great progress on the downsizing. Doesn't it feel good to unload some of the stuff you've accumulated over the years? I kept wondering why I didn't do it sooner. emoticon

If you're settling in NV, we'll almost be neighbors (well, at least in the western sense of the word).

Thanks for the welcome, Debb! I'm glad to be back. How's the moving prep going? Do you have a timeline in mind?

Wow, Debb - 40 years! I thought I had a lot of prep to do after 15 years! It's good that you're giving yourself plenty of time. I was surprised at how much there was to do, but, how quickly it came together once I was really focused on it. I lived in northern California for 10 years (SF Bay Area). It's a lovely state. I've not really been to Roseville, but drove through a lot on I-80 on my way to and from Tahoe. I know you'll love living in CA, especially being so close to your sons.

The house search is slow. I saw one online today that looks interesting, although I'd have to do remodeling, to add a second bathroom. The price would give me the wiggle room, but not sure what it would take or if it would even be possible. I think I'll drive down there today (it's about 20 minutes away) just to check it out. If the location is as good as it looks, I'll give my agent a call and ask to see it. At any rate, it's a long shot. I'm really looking for something with a "cabin in the woods" feel, but not overly rustic. I have always enjoyed living in places where I feel connected with nature. This place backs to forest land, at the edge of the community, so it could fit the bill. But as I said, it's a long shot.

Hope you have a great week and get lots done!

You're probably right, Debb, that my recent life changes are disrupting my sleep now. Speaking of which, how is your move prep coming? When do you think you'll list your house?
