    You'll find good support and motivation on this team. Most of the action happens on the Weekly Challenge, where you choose your goals and give yourself a star for meeting them each day. It's a great way to stay accountable.

    Hi Deb! I also had gastric bypass and lost 105 lbs. Slowly, over 5 years I found 30 again. I started in July and lost those thirty. The I found spark people and decided to work hard to get rid of some more pounds and improve my health (and it NEEDS improving). With Spark I've lost another 9 lbs. Right now my first goal is 250lbs (from a high of 365) ...only 9 lbs away. Then I'll set a new goal of 225. Small steps ...eventually 199 (I want to say I weigh under 200!) I'm struggling with the exercise part but for now I am just trying to do something for a few minutes (10 - 20) every day. Did you have any issues with the gastric bypass? I didn't until recently, but some of my gb friends had issues from the start.

    We're the LARGEST TEAM in SparkPeople. I'm hoping that we will have the largest number of PARTICIPATING team members as well!
    Start recording everything you eat in the Nutrition Tracker, don‘t worry too much about ‘dieting‘. You'll probably notice that you're getting WAY too much sodium and not enough protein and fiber. If you're an 'emotional eater' record in the Nutrition Tracker notes what 'set you off' to a binge etc. Also, start using the Fitness Tracker for exercises. There are various levels of exercises for you to choose from in there to help you get to your goals.
    Start incorporating at LEAST 8-8 ounce glasses of water every day. Your body requires that as a minimum just to sit in front of the TV all day. For every hour that you sweat you loose a quart of water ... that's FOUR CUPS. So, it's important to hydrate and REhydrate your body throughout the day.
    Participation is a great motivator. Catch up on the team threads - we’ve been pretty busy over there!
