The name of my page is a quote from Thomas the tank engine - my son's favorite show. I am at an all time high weight of 253 pounds and feeling pretty awful about it. My 4-year old son is a great encouragement to me to lose weight and he enjoys eating healthy and exercising with me, also. I chose this quote to remind me of how important it is that I become healthy for him.

I have had a long journey to this place I am in. It all started with my pregnancy with my son. After I had him, I had a lot of weight to lose and gradually lost until I made it to 185 lbs. I was continuing my weight loss onto my goal when I became very sick.

After multiple tests, trial diets, and a lot of pain, it's been said that I'm diagnosed with severe IBS-D with massive abdominal cramping. I can only compare the stomach cramps to that of labor pains because of the extreme pain. There are a lot of dietary restrictions imposed on me because of the IBS and also, I'm allergic to many foods, including soy.

Recently I went to see a chiropractor about back pain and found out that I have pre-arthritis, which is quite shocking for someone who is only 25 years old. If I don't do something about the shape I'm in, I'm going to be in pain for the rest of my life. It's my hope that changing my lifestyle will not only change my weight for the better, but also my health for the better, and hopefully my back, too.

Because of my bust size, my back problems, and my weight, it is very difficult for me to exercise and impossible (just about) to do high cardio without injuring myself. It's my hope that I can use yoga and slow walking to start building up some strength, endurance and flexibility. And hopefully by next summer I'll be able to afford to go to our local YMCA to swim, as well.

I'm going to use a combination of prayer, journalling, reading devotions/inspirational stories, yoga and anxiety reduction techniques to curb my emotional eating and work on the psychology behind why I eat the way that I do.

This is my last train ride down obesity tunnel. I'm committed to making it to my goal and staying there.
