UPDATE 9/18/09
Well, I completed the half marathon in 2 hours and 22 minutes, which was awesome, because my goal was to do it in under 2:30. I am now just maintaining my weight loss at 140 lbs. Woohoo!

UPDATE 3/24/09
I have recently decided to train to run a half marathon. I have NEVER been a runner, but this is something I want to do. I will be competing in the Rock n Roll Chicago Half Marathon on August 2nd, 2009!

All growing up, I struggled with my weight, and I still do. It may be a blessing in disguise since I've always had to watch what I eat, but it still stinks sometimes when cookies are staring me in the face.

Anyway, I am a wife and a mother of a 1 one year old. Before pregnancy, I never worked out long enough to see results, but after I had my son, I at least wanted to fit back into my old wardrobe! So, I buckled down and worked out long enough to fit in most of my old clothes, so I stopped. Since then, I've gained 10 pounds back and am really unhappy with myself that I quit. So, as cliché as this may sound, I am serious this time.

I would love to look good in a tight dress, but I want to be healthy too. My goal is to be consistent enough with exercising that I can continue to do so when I get pregnant with our second child (which will hopefully happen around the end of this year.)

I joined SparkPeople for the motivation and accountability the site can provide me!

    8 minutes faster??? that is awesome!!!! and with the stress of a move looming in the background - amazing!!!! i came in three minutes slower than i wanted, but i guess it was in the ball park :) so i am happy!!! it is addicting isnt it??? the phoenix one will be great!!! i kind of want to find another in the area in a few months as practice for next years RNR chicago. i GOTTA get it better, and beat the goal i had set this time! Congrats again! Good luck on the move and good luck on your next half!!!
