Big kudos on the changes you've made! It's humbling. And yes, maintaining changes week after week, year after year, can be challenging in our food-rich environments. But what's the alternative? Being a slave to food is no fun, either.

I wanted to welcome you to the Living Binge Free team. I haven't looked at any of your posts yet, so this is blind, but here it is for now. (New members are supposed to get automatic welcomes, but sometimes don't because pages are set to private. I'm checking up on that. )

Although most of us want to lose weight (and our core members have lost and maintained), we like having a place where we can feel successful for not bingeing no matter what the scale says. There are plenty of teams where that is the focus! A major reason people give up on good eating habits is because they keep linking their efforts to weight loss and get discouraged when it doesn't happen, at least at the rate or in the amount they want, or because they can maintain a certain weight while still bingeing. But taming our binge habit is a victory in itself, one that we always need to give ourselves credit for. That's what we focus on.

There is no one way to get to that goal, but there are some that have more traction than others. Each member moves towards that in her own way.

Our 21-day streak has been going with a core of members for over 9 years. Some use it like a simple check in, others like a chat thread. (rather than start a new one more often that just peters out). Of course, any member can start any thread she feels will be useful for her.

You don't even have to be trying to get to 21 days to post on the thread! Just come share what you like.
