I've tried this diet thing so many times, but I'm really serious about it this time. Mostly because I'm sick of not being happy with myself. I know that if I continue to lose weight I'll gain confidence and live longer and healthier!


I want to keep the above message there because it reminds me of where I came from. I've now lost about 100 lbs with Sparkpeople and have even underwent a breast reduction surgery because of my weight loss. I now cook, like really COOK in the kitchen, and I'm much more excited about my meals, working out, have lots more energy, and overall I'm so much happier and healthier.

If any one out there is doubting themselves, you CAN do it. I tried this diet thing for about 10 years before I finally was able to do it. Don't give up. No matter how much you have to lose, you CAN do it, think positively and make sure you reward yourself.

My Goals:
Current Short Term Goals:
1) Reach 175 lbs
2) Increase running mileage to 9 miles/week
3) Spend at least 30 min a day doing something special for me (taking a bath, no technology, play with my cat, etc)

Long term Goals
1) Get down to 145 lbs (half my original starting weight)
2) Run an entire half marathon
3) wear a single number size pants

My Program:
I think it's important to go slow and not overdo things right at the beginning. For this reason, I only add one new goal at a time. Instead of disrupting my schedule all at once, it's easier to adapt at a slower pace.

Personal Information:
I am currently living in Olathe, KS working as a 5th grade orchestra teacher, and loving it!

Other Information:
I am absolutely obsessed with Doctor Who (if you can't tell from my background). Johnny Depp is kind of amazing too. :D
