Hello everyone. My name is Valerie and I am a wife and mother of 4 daughters...Kysondra~17, Keianna~12, Makailah~5, and Alexis~3. My husband Greg is my motivation and constant support. Without him, I couldn't have done it. He has lost over 180 lbs and is, and will always be, MY inspiration.

My Goals:

1. Become a good role model for our daughters and young women around us.

2. Make good food choices.

3. Be at a size that I am happy and comfortable with.

My Program:
I do cardio everyday for at least 30 minutes. We have an elliptical machine and a stationary bike. My choice would be to walk outside, but I live in North Central Idaho. Winters here are long and the snow keeps falling. I weight train 4~5 times a week, with ab work 3~4 days a week. I love the feeling of my body getting stronger. Even if the fat is not shedding like I'd want it to, knowing I'm getting stronger helps tremendously.

Personal Information:
I am a very active woman. I love to play and watch sports. Lucky for my husband..lol
I coach HS Girl's Volleyball and want to show young women that being strong in your body is not a masculine thing. Having muscle and working with weights will NOT make you look like a body builder.
I want them to learn how to feed their bodies for fuel, not just for satisifaction. And that the better "fuel" they put in their bodies, the better their bodies will "run". I am extremely passionate about showing young women to be healthy, strong, and beautiful in their own skin.

Other Information:
The main reason for my change in lifestyles was because of our daughters. At my highest recorded weight I was 371lbs. The medical conditions that are prevailant in my family include obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. On my husband's side, there is also obesity and diabetes. I knew that we didn't have the symptoms yet, but if we kept going the way we were, we would have and then our girls would be left without their mother and father.

Since we have started, we have shed over 300lb. To say that I have lost a person's body weight is simply mind boggling to me. I still have more to shed, but I will get there. I am determined and excited to see the weight come off.

I'd love to hear more! I, at my highest weight, was I THINK 310.....I can't remember anything higher than that, anyway. That was due to pregnancy, too, but I STILL don't want to be there ever again!
How long has it taken for you to get where you are now?? So far, is your skin readjusting with you ok??
I'm learning to get more active, and it's going to take a while - I've got to get my ankles stronger little by little. (I think???) I've got FLAT feet, and I know I can't make the bones right themselves. Age might make things worse, if my Dad's an indication of what's in my future. I follow after him the most, physically.
Thank you for your post of celebration!! We ALL need to see people making GREAT things happen! It gives others more hope! :) HUGS Glo
