I live in Iowa; I knit, spin, weave, sew. If it has fiber I am all over it. Except for quilting and baskets; not enough time in the day.

In the fall of 2016 I decided I was old enough to be a "little, old, blue-haired lady" and had it dyed. Dearly Beloved likes it so it has stayed.

SparkPeople was off my radar for a long, long time. But after finding a new way to go I am using it again. In April 2012 I reached my first goal of losing 60 pounds and have been at maintenance ever since. Which is not quite true. If you talked with my coach I was maintaining. But I gained weight back. Right now I am not 160 but 200. It was four years returning but it returned and now I am working to take it back down without the program I used in 2011-12.

According to BMI and current weight charts (which are totally inaccurate and illogical) I was still counted as obese at 161. But right now I do not feel as good as I could. Sooooo, on the trail to lose what I have gained and perhaps go a bit lower to see how that feels.

My Goals:
My biggest goal is to limber up and gain more stamina. The fact that pounds drop off is an added benefit.

My Program:
I have added more walking; taking the stairs going up. It is bumpy going with being consistent with weights.

Personal Information:
Iowa City, Iowa
Enforced retirement in February 2017 which makes me very happy for a number of reasons: 1-more time with DB; 2-able to walk more and not be tied to an office; 3-fibre related things, creating, conferences, etc.; and 4-be outside.

Find me on Ravelry as tully; Instagram as gtullyrav; and Facebook Grace Tully to see what is going on day to day.

Other Information:
"Make it work" has become a talisman for me. Many times I want to walk away but Tim G's voice in my head will not let me and so I go back into the fray to try and make it work.

Oh man - that must have been so scary - I do hope he's okay now. And thanks for the bloglove, btw. I'm so glad I did that quick check back though, on my goals and such. Feel pretty good about where I'm going and I did make up a list of all the Holiday Things To Do.

My own ER story: when they called and said DH had checked in I just said "right" hung up the phone, and got in my car. Only to begin obsessing about how much blood there would be since, at the time, he wouldn't go to a doctor for anything less than a chain saw accident. I got to the desk and introduced myself. "Is there any blood?" I gasped and the lady said "No. He's had a heart attack."

"OH! Thank god for that!" I gushed. Because you and I know they don't need a wife fainting on the ER floor.

LOL - He recovered well and we're laugh about it now, but I am sure that lady still wonders what kind of monster I am.

    Thanks for the well wishes.

I can keep a fair tension with knit stitches, but not so much with purls. I have done a re-wrap around fingers that works pretty well. I can throw, but I think the tension would probably be inconsistent.

This is putting a strain on my plans for the week. I have a convention to go to that will afford a lot of mindless knitting time and I haven't managed to get a project started that would work best. However, I should have some down time tomorrow night and Tuesday morning that I should be able to use to get it to the mindless knitting stage.

Keep up your projects and emoticon
