Another new start. I have a lovely friend on Spark who is getting back at it and I am hoping to join her. Need to get my act together. My weight has piled back on because I did not keep my mouth closed. This could be the wrong time of year to try to lose some weight with the holidays coming but it would be way worse if I wasn't going to try.

Updated- 2015 is now also gone and half of 2016. 2nd surgery did n21290002395491ot go so well and I have gained back all my weight. I have turned into a slough. My husband decided we should sell our home and move to a one level because of my feet and his knees. The house sold in three days and we could not find a new home so we decided to buy a new one. Trouble is that was Oct 2015 and home will not be ready till mid July 2016, so we are currently homeless. Thank goodness my sister has taken us in.all I do is sit on the couch as I am in an area I do not know and really miss my old area but it is a good 20 minute drive with no traffic which does not happen often. Hoping when we move I will get a life back and my will power to get back to where I need to be. I have not been active with Sparkpeople except for with a couple of fabulous Ladies (K &J) that I met here, they are keeping me sane. Wish I knew them in person they have been so good for me. Thank you Sparkpeople for putting them in my life.

Well 2014 has come and gone and what a year. Joined SP in mid January and lost 50 pounds in the year. Many ups and downs especially ups during December back at it for 2015. Had my first ankle surgery after a 3 year wait in June, 8 weeks in bed and 12 weeks to recover, not 100% but liveable. Looking to second surgery Jan 22 2015, thus one is more extensive so back to bed rest with no weight bearing for weeks again, but there is a light at the end. Hoping to control weight while in bed and then get back to losing some of my excess when mobile again. I am a sandwich generation child, Mom is 90 and one of my children is a worry. What happened to freedom with retirement?

My Goals:
first goal try and get back to where I was just before my second ankle surgery.

Then get fitter and lighter and down to where I should be.

My Program:
Eating healthier and cutting back on the bad food ( not completely cutting them out )and trying to move a little more

First surgery over June 23
Now on twelve weeks of bed rest and little else. Trying to maintain the weight loss I have had so far. SUCCESS as of Aug 14

Second surgery Jan 22 2015. As of mid June healing not going well. Foot is crooked and the tendon transfers and stretches as well as fusion just do not want to work the way they should. Does not help that I have gained over twenty pounds with this recovery.

Personal Information:
Love to play cards with friends and read - mysteries, light romance, police crimes.

Other Information:
Looking forward to getting back to walking, golfing and travelling as these have not been possible for 4 years.

    Jan, Thank you!!! Bobby is still in the hospital. He should have been moved to rehab on Friday, but his kidneys got worse. They are running more test on him. If everything goes ok, then he will be moved tomorrow.

    emoticon When I read your post a game of Tug O' War came to mind. It was probably a close tie yesterday. Today we MUST do better! This is no game!
    I've already tracked my menu for the day so all I have to do is stick to it. How hard can that be emoticon
    I want to beat myself up because the year is near half past and I've squandered all that precious time I could've used to be that much healthier. Instead I'll use that energy to focus on doing much better for the 2nd half beginning today! Besides on average I am losing a pound per month. So it's not all bad. I know I can do much better. And so can you! We have to start treating ourselves as we would treat a dear loved one. It may seem nacissistic but I think if we are not our best how can we give our best?
