My Name is Emily and I had Gastric Bypass on Jan. 22nd and I am feeling great! I would like to be connected with others that have had surgery as well. I am Happily Married with 2 Beautiful kids ages 10 and 3 and I want to be around when they grow old and have children! I am a God fearing woman and my faith is #1 in my life, so I would like to meet fellow Christians that not only believe that they are doing this but that their FAITH is what is getting them down this road to success!

Some of my friends and family have told me I should jot down everything about my weight loss journey and I thought well it would be foolish not too! So here you have it, my page with pictures and blogs, I am a big blogger some are long and some are short just depends what on the mind that day!

I have ALWAYS struggled with weight issues, obesity is on both side of my family and I have tried every Yo-Yo diet under the sun and maybe lost a pound or two all to gain it right back and some more. It has really hindered my self esteem and my self image, it has been a struggle because I am a very outgoing, bubbly, personal person but I have always kept just enough distance because I was never comfortable with my image. I know that I would be alot worse off if I didn't have the husband I have, he has NEVER made me feel anything but beautiful and I cannot thank God enough for him! I have to honestly say that it was not until I became a Memeber at my Church that I really felt that I could be me that people were not looking at ME rather at my HEART and I can't think my Church Family enough for that!!

I made the decision in September 2008 to have Weight Loss Surgery so I began my walk down the road to a healthier life. I finally got approved by Insurance in December 2008 after 90 days of Nutrition Counseling and Psycological Evaluations (Yes they determined I was Crazy but not THAT Crazy....LOL) Insurance said I was a canidate for the Surgery and it was scheduled for January 22nd 2009! So here I am walking my walk down the healthier road now and couldn't be happier that I did it! I am so excited to be able to log in everyday and most days I am able to Weigh in and it is usually a lower # than the day before!! Don't get me wrong the life style change has been hard, but along with my Faith, support group, you all my Spark Friends, family, and close friends I can honestly say that I am having more good days than bad! I have definetly developed a totally different appreciation for food!! What used to be Freedom with food was actually bondage and I am now glad to say I am FREE!!!

I will be posting pictures every month to show my progress and although I hate posting the before Pictures I know one day very soon I will be proud of them, Proud to show where I am now VS. where I was!!
