Get started as if you are motivated. Pretend. And the motivation will come!

My Goals:
I would like to lose about 25 lbs. However, I do not want to focus on the number.

1. Eat a more plant based diet.
2. Eat more fiber - over 35 grams per day
3. Move every day

My Program:
5% Winter Challenge (2020) Exercise Commitment

Aim for 60 minutes of exercise per day.
*Strength train at least 3 times per week
*Cardio 6 times per week - with 5 of the days as weight bearing cardio
*Swim on day per week - usually Tuesday
*One day per week active rest day - usually Saturday
*Practice yoga 15 minutes every day

5% Summer Challenge (2019) Exercise Commitment

Aim for 60 minutes of weight bearing exercise per day per doctor's instructions.
Swim one day a week, usually Thursday.
Aim for 15-20 minutes of Yoga per day.

5% Summer Challenge Nutritional Plan

Incorporate more calcium rich foods into diet per doctor's instructions.
Track food and measure foods instead of estimating portion size.
Continue to aim for 35 grams of fiber a day.
Aim for 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables.
Stay within calorie range 1500-1700.
Eat until 80% full,
Weight Loss Goal - 9 lbs.

Personal Information:
I will be turning 59 this year. Five years ago I had a hysterectomy and four years ago I had knee surgery. I have put on some pounds. I do believe that the hysterectomy has thrown all I know about eating and weight loss out the window. Since joining the 5% challenge teams my weight loss goals are being attained. I do realize that without the support of fellow team members it would be so easy to fall back into bad habits.

Other Information:
I have two dogs. Corkie and Maximus.

I am married to a retired firefighter. We have been together 37 years.

Thank you for stopping by my blog. I laughed at the blackberry picking you mentioned, because I think my love of berry picking comes from growing up in Michigan and my parents taking us blackberry picking every year in the Michigan state forest land. I loved it! I am trying to plan on my next visit there and am planning it around blackberry picking season! Haha!

LOVE IT Fae!!! emoticon on emoticon today!! SO NEAT You were the only one in the pool!! I'd of taken one of my BFF's (she's so much more like the "Little Sister I never asked for, but got any ways." hehehehehe that's what I tell her too!! HAHAHA

We've been friends for almost 50 years. We do NOT always agree, but it works because there's love in these years. Our lives have always intertwined, even if one of us were living out of state, but now we are in buildings besides each other. We are swimming buddies, about the same length of strokes and speed. Well, at times she's faster than I am but I am kicking with a half size foot!! She's wise enough to not say much about beating me. I've always been the athletic one, cos I'll immediately challenge her to a run. LOL She can't. Or I'll put my foot on top of my head. See like SISTERS!!

Yes, the path of least resistance always so much easier. Yet, it's like buying a pair of shoes for $3 they just will NOT be good for us, NOR last.

But, when we pay $150 for a pair of shoes, they'll certainly give us quite a bit, when we pay $600 for a pair they tend to really last and be comfy.

What price are we willing to pay for our health? For not ending up in the nursing home early? to not break a hip early (if at all)? To work as long as we wish so we are okay financially or to feel useful longer?
