Hi Everyone,

I am a Registered Dietitian who never had a weight problem except for the 5 lbs. I was forever feeling I needed to lose until about 10 years ago when it seemed like I gained about 40 lbs. within a few months. It has been a journey losing it. I woke up one morning about 3 years ago and felt like the missing piece was support. So, I joined Weight Watchers and followed it to a "t". I lost about 15 lbs. but it was depressing going to meetings week after week and being stuck (and paying $40 per month for that frustration). So, I kept at it, exercising but my 3 hours of cardio per week, sporadic strength training and 3 times per week of yoga weren't enough despite following a 1200 to 1500 calorie diet. It is only within the past 2 months I have broken through and I am about to be in the 120's (lb. range), something I haven't seen in years! What works this time is consistency. I hike daily for at least one hour with long, 3-1/2 hour hikes every two weeks. I also do other active things like housecleaning, tennis, jogging around a track. I have practically given up sugar except for the rare Lucy's Gluten-free chocolate chip cookie single serving package (4 small cookies). I was doing all of this for 2 months with almost no weight change but my body fat percentage dropped from 34 to 26. And it made a huge difference in my appearance. It was soooo hard to weigh myself for months, knowing how much I was doing, including tracking every calorie and entering all of my foods into Sparkpeople database but now the rewards are showing and it is worth it!!!

DON'T GIVE UP!!
