Hi! I'm Helen.

I have a wonderful husband and 5 children. Each one has a completely different personality and different strengths and weaknesses, so they keep me hopping, trying to parent them all in their own ways... We live in NJ and we homeschool. I was born in Brazil to missionary parents and went to high school and college in Wisconsin. I studied Music Therapy in college and then worked with Alzheimer's patients for 5 years before having children.

I am attempting to implement various things in my weight-loss journey: the Gabriel Method (especially his visualizations on my ipod), nutritarian eating (Dr. Fuhrman's eating plan), EFT, bilateral stimulation, brainwave music, daily affirmations, a bullet journal, mood charting, Whole Woman Yoga, riding the exercise bike (while reading a book), doing the Leslie Sansone walk at home videos, an online bootcamp membership, implementing healthy routines and getting rid of bad habits, Vimala handwriting/character building and flylady routines. I now also am adding Intermittent Fasting to my healthy habits, eating between 9am and 2pm and fasting the rest of the time.

Personal Information:
I live in New Jersey. I spent high school and college years in Wisconsin and was born and raised in Brazil, a daughter of missionaries from Minnesota.


Other Information:
I enjoy music... playing the piano, guitar, recorder, singing... I used to play the oboe but have TMJ, so have given it up. I have a degree in Music Therapy and worked with Alzheimer's patients for 5 years. I also enjoy making jewelry for myself and have an interest in personality types, style, make-up, color palettes, gardening and sewing. I make a lot of my own clothes and I cut my own hair with a flowbee. I like painting with watercolors. I enjoy reading self-improvement books and I bullet journal. I try to follow the FlyLady's advice on keeping the home clean and tidy.
