Hi Gail, Thanks for sending me a message on my sparkpage. I am diabetic and have been for about a year and a half. Was pre-diabetic and then three monts later I was diabetic. It is under control pretty much and I do water exercises at the Y to help with that. My husband is also diabetic and is on insulin. He does better in the summer with gollfing and mowing the grass. I still have not gotten him to the gym.

I have had 5 Shelties, my first one I got as a pup. We had Bonnie, a Sable for 12 years. We got Princess, a Tri-colored at about 5 years old. She came to us with heartworm, but we were Blessed to have her until abouto age 18! Then we got Brittany, a beautiful dark mahogany Sable when she was 6 year old. She was a breeder's dog who had been well cared for and was well behaved. Not sure how they could get rid of her. She is now 12 - 13 years old. Also have Heather, a 6 year old Sable Merle (or at least we saw a picture of one that looked just like her!) She is very hyper and has a lot of sensitivity issues. And then there is Jack, who is now a wee bit over a year and a half and a Bi-Blue sweetie. He is the smallest one I have ever had at 15#!

We have also had a Shephard Husky mix. She is no gone. At one point while we had her we had four dogs in the house. The thing was she needed to be in a one dog household. We had her until she was about 10 and then she went to live with my daughter and her kids. It was so much better for her as she got older - still close to us and with family who loved her. She passed away at about 12 with hip displaysia. We tried all we could to help her, but she got so bad that we had to put her to sleep for her sake.

Yes, God is so good!!! He has brought me through so much. I do not understand how people can live without Him in their lives. He has carried me when I had no strength of my own. Praise be to Him!!

Hi Hildegail, I also live in Ohio, am a Christian and have a Sheltie named Jack!!! He is a little over a year and a half and is a Bi-Blue. He is one of three Shelties we have. Brittany is a dark Sable and is 12 - 13 years old and Heather is a Sable Merle (or at least saw a picture of one that looked just like her). She is 6 years old. I live in Eastlake, about 15 minutes east of downtown Cleveland.

I had done a search on Shetland Sheepdogs on the Sparkpeople site and found your page.

God Bless you in your weight loss journey. I have just started to get back on track after a hiatus of about 5 months and a gain of 20 #.
