My name is Matthew and I am a 32 father of 4. I am the Network Administrator for 2 companies in North Alabama. My kids are 8,6,5,& 1 which makes for a very active life. It was the fact that I was not being active with my family and watching them play without me that made me want to make a change.

When I was growing up I was always the shorter skinny kid. I was always moving by playing outside, swimming at the YMCA, or playing sports. I never had a problem with weight until I graduated college. I did not add all the weight overnight but it was a slow adding of pounds the sneaked up on me. When I started college I weighed 130lbs and was 5'10". In 2006 I had grown a few inches in height but also everywhere else. I topped the scale at 220lbs and it was time for a change. I made this lifechange for my future health since I have heart disease and Type 2 diabetes on both sides of my family. I wanted to make sure that I am healthy but also that I pass good eating and fitness to my kids.
I know have more energy and I am able to keep up with my young kids with energy to spare. I recently went back for blood work and all my numbers are in the normal range. I dropped my cholesterol by 38 points and my Blood Pressure went from 130/95 to 106/52. These are the numbers knew I needed to achieve and thats to Beachbody and the hard work I had to put in I have achieved my goals. How are you affecting you families health? I can help just ask me how!

My Goals:
I have met and exceeded my initial weight-loss goals by losing 30lbs.

I want to be able to do a handstand and climb a rope with no help from my legs.

My Program:
I have completed 2 full rounds of P90X and a round of Insanity. I am currently doing a hybrid of P90X, One on One, and Insanity.

The tri is the Huntsville Sprint on August 20th. Running and biking are going super... Swimming not so much! I reeeeaally need to work on the swimming... You wouldn't think 400m in the water would kick my tooth as much as 10mi on the road! emoticon

Hey Matt! I was thinking about doing the race... Rick, the race director is one of the coaches for the Tri 101 training and he is encouraging us to come out. I need to sign up soon if I'm going to do it!

As for Monday's run... geeeez. My time was ok. I posted a minute faster than any 5k I ran in 2009 (I didn't run any races in 2010) but I should have been able to get closer to 23 min. I have a pretty kick-butt speed program if I could only get myself to be consistant. So what is this program you're working on over at the University? Istill haven't signed up for a membership over there... call me lazy!
