Some lessons seem to take longer than others to learn. I joined Sparks in 2006. Now 11 yrs later I am still about the same weight. During those years the scales have moved forward and backward. I found many excuses for this but realize the change has to come from within me.
It is now January 2017 and I am once again moving downward on my weight loss.
I have been given a wake up call recently from my doctors. And I am taking it seriously. I need to choose life and to do this I need changes.

Overweight has also slowed me down in the work God has called me to do with my husband on the mission field. I know with a healthier body I could be more effective. So it is my desire to press on toward the goal.
With God's help I can find discipline. With the education and tools from Sparks I am developing new discipline habits. With the help of others here on the same path I have found encouragement and motivation.

My Goals:
I would love to weigh about 135 someday but to do that I will need first to develop and maintain some healthy habits.

I am learning short goals work best. Step by step I will be made new.
My short terms goals are...
1. Get below 210
**(reached this early 2012)

2. Get below 205
**(reached this goal May 6 2012 and again by January 16, 2017)

3. Get below 200 then keep going.

In the process...

4. Pray Scripture daily
5. Develop tracking
6. Maintain Water intake
7. Add exercise

I am learning the need to
8. Take time for me
9. Encourage others
10. Rest well

My Program:
I am first seeking the strength of the Lord and the Word. Then I am educating myself to a healthy lifestyle and applying it step by step. Sparks plan works I just need to follow it.

Personal Information:
My hubby and I are vagabonds for the Lord so our home is wherever He places us at any given time. Our base is Michigan. Check our website to learn more

Other Information:
Life is an adventure when you let God lead for without Him I could do nothing. My relationship with Jesus is the most important thing in my life. His unconditional love has turned all the pain in my life around and He can do it for you too. Trust Him today.

The importance of being positive is like a bird with outstretched wings. It is only by flapping both wings that flight can be obtained. Actions and Affirmations must both be present to achieve positive thoughts, and to soar.

Once you have a clear picture of your priorities- that is values, goals, and high leverage activities- organize around them.
