I'm on the right and one of my dearest friends is on the left. :) (I wrote it backwards before.)

Recently I was struggling with trying yet one more time to get back in the game. I was feeling lost, hopeless, and just so sad because I must just be "destined" to be fat. I decided last night that I would reach out to a very good friend on here. I hadn't logged into SP for a loooong time, but I was desperate. I told myself that I didn't have to do anything else, just email her... and I did. The wisdom and encouragement she wrote back was awesome. I'm going to put up a few quotes from that sparkmail, not only do I want to remember what she said, but I believe there are others out there that can find encouragement in it. "First of all-it is not useless, and losing weight and getting 'unfat' has nothing to do with luck. You know that already, you don't need me to tell you that. It just takes being consistent in your actions. I want you to get up tomorrow, dust yourself off, and make you the priority for tomorrow. I'm sure you have a busy day planned, but you need to start planning out time everyday for you-to exercise, and to have a plan in place for healthy eating." "Don't get overwhelmed with how much you want to lose or how long it's going to take. That doesn't matter. We are not talking about another diet here-we (you and I both) are going to change our lifestyles-we are going to change the way we live, how we deal with food and our emotions. We are going to choose health and fitness as a new way to be." "It doesn't matter how long it takes. I don't care when I get to my goal-because if I do my best everyday(well almost everyday-we aren't seeking perfection here) I WILL get to my goal. And though getting to my goal weight is certainly important the BIGGER goal is changing the way I live and the way I view food for the long haul. Because if I don't change that, I'm setting mself up for another trip on the diet rollercoaster. That's why there is no rush here-I just get up everyday and do the best I can. Some days I fall flat on my face, but that is NOT an excuse for me to give up. There is no giving up-we just pick ourselves up and get back in the game tomorrow. There is no reason good enough for me to give up, I'm just gonna keep at it til I get there. And you can do the very same thing." "So chin up girl, dust yourself off and get yourself back in the game. It will be great to have you back on Spark. I've missed you:) Believe in yourself- I know you can do this-" Change is good. :) I saw this posted on one of my Spark Team pages and love it! It's a great reminder of why it's ok to lose one pound at a time. :) ***Hello, do you know me? If you don't, you should. I'm a pound of fat, and I'm the HAPPIEST pound of fat that you would ever want to meet. Want to know why? It's because no one ever want to lose me; I'm ONLY ONE POUND, just a pound! Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds, or fifteen pounds, but never only one. So I just stick around and happly keep you fat. Then I add to myself, ever so slyly, so that you never seem to notice it. That is, until I've grown to ten, twenty, thirty or even more pounds in weight. Yes, its fun beig ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT, left to do as I please. So when you weigh in, keep right on saying, "Oh I only lost one pound." (As if that were such a terrible thing.) For you see, if you do this, you'll encourage others to keep me around because they'll think I'm not worth losing. and I love being around you - your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you. Happy Days!!! After all, I'm ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT!!!
