Fitness Minutes: 18,931

My Goals:

- To become more self-observant and be able to better plan my activities to reach my goals.
- To better articulate my goals.

- To learn how to adjust my diet to incorporate watching both carbs and, now, saturated fats.
- To find better perseverance.
- To get it off and learn how to keep it off!

My Program:
I track my food (500 calories less then my basal needs) watching calories, saturated fat, carbs, fiber and protein, and work to exercise more regularly to burn more calories, thereby lowering my weight. I am learning to incorporate more whole foods and healthy vegetables thanks to both The Suppers Program and the Whole Foods Wellness Club.

Personal Information:
I’m a pretty well controlled Type II Diabetic with an insulin pump. I've lost 40 pounds previously on my own with diet and exercise, but it is tough on your own (from 178 lbs., I returned to 220 when my parents were nonstop sick for a year and a half and my mom died).

I know that the sense of community here and all of the positive reinforcement (Spark Points!) will help me more easily to reach my own goals. I’m glad to be here and trying it again.

Other Information:
I love audio-books and miss the wonderful hot tub at the gym in NJ.

    I don't see the ugly red band but I finally paid the $30 to get the premium to get rid of it. That is why I don't like to be linked up to ads when I try to read a post. They will get the ad to you somehow.

    Thank you for visiting my sparkpage. I am doing pretty well.

    This cancer things really knocked me down for a long time but I am now working very hard to come back to my "new normal". Life will never be the same again but I believe I can reach some peace with my best "new normal".

    Hey stranger! Yes, have done some HIIT, but honestly even that amount after my nightmare commute very evening is too much. I save that mostly for the weekends. I like the walking. Gets me out of the house after dinner. And I have a walking partner so it's more fun that way. Except that now I have blisters under blisters so took tonight off! LOL! How are you, anyway???
