I am a 38 year old woman who has let years and pounds add up. I am finding a balance between whole foods/sorta paleo/nourishing traditions living, hiking, outdoor activities and reality of single parenting, working full time and having a life full of adventure!

Life seems to be changing drastically as I refigure out who I am. When I began Sparkpeople a year ago I was living in Arkansas, had a house full of foster children and my own children and was working towards my first 5K. July of this year my children were in a terrible accident which precipitated a huge change of events. Now, I am living back in Oregon, in a cottage by the sea and only have two children with me. Life has changed!

SO! I have joined the gym, I am going 5-6 days per week, spending a lot of time hiking outdoors, I am determined to get fit by FORTY! but Now... even more pressing... The love of my life is relocating from Arkansas to Oregon in March! I want many many wonderful years with him.... SO fitness has catapulted to the top of the priority list!

My Goals:
Detox my body from the chemical invasion I have put it through!

Lose 60 pounds

Be fit and fab by MARCH when my one true love relocates to Oregon!!!

My Program:
Not following a "diet", I am too oppositional. Following a mixture of Weston Price and Michael Pollan. Eat food, not too much, mostly plants! Eating healthy fats (olive oil, coconut oil) and only pastured meat. Keeping my calories reasonable and exercising daily!

Personal Information:
Single Mama, living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest once again! Living the outdoors life, engaging in hiking, beach walking, rock climbing, bicycling and stress reduction.

Other Information:
The best way to predict your future is to invent it!

    Hi! Welcome to the Fabulous by Forty Team! You have a lot going on in your life and you are looking to add some cardio. I found it easier to make a commitment of 10-20 minutes per day during the week on the tread mill, elliptical, or outside. But it should be a time that you know you can commit to. I started running last January when I got my FitBit. It is addicting to see how many steps I can get per day. Maybe it is something you want to try. Hope this helps.
