Introduction Text I have been heavy all my life, and I've gained and lost weight many times. Every time I gained back more than what I lost. I gave up until I learned last year that I have diabetes. Now I'm motivated to do it for ME, not to impress someone else like I'd done before. These past ten months on Sparkpeople have been awesome! The pain in my feet has lessened considerably and I can do just about anything I'd done before as long as I'm not on my feet for too long. Fortunately, I can stay on them longer and longer now! It's the greatest thing to not be in a rush to lose weight, to accept my failures and learn from them, and to finally make simple lifestyle changes instead of dieting. It's great to know I CAN do this!



Weight training class twice a week, running three times a week, and yoga twice a week. I'm not doing so well at staying in my numbers, but my weight is still going down. So I'm OK with that.

My name is Nancy, and I grew up in Colorado and Virginia. I live in Colorado now, right at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, close to Rocky Mountain National Park. I love hiking and now I'm learning to love running, too.

I love almost any activity involving needles and thread. I like to quilt especially and like to enter the Hoffman Challenge, an international quilting competition. I also enjoy tatting and sell supplies online.
