My introduction starts with borrowing a quote from Valeriemaha's SparkPage: "The trouble is, you think you have time". That fits in so well with my mantra, "If not now, when?"
I've put off for so long doing anything much about my overall lack of physical (and mental) fitness. But no more. This wonderful program will hold me accountable to myself as I put it out there for all to see. And I'm inspired by the journeys of others, whether they encounter potholes in the road or find ...
My introduction starts with borrowing a quote from Valeriemaha's SparkPage: "The trouble is, you think you have time". That fits in so well with my mantra, "If not now, when?"
I've put off for so long doing anything much about my overall lack of physical (and mental) fitness. But no more. This wonderful program will hold me accountable to myself as I put it out there for all to see. And I'm inspired by the journeys of others, whether they encounter potholes in the road or find themselves able to soar. It's a journey I intend to take - one step at a time.

My Goals:
1) Attain a healthy weight (lose at least 20 lbs, but aiming for a loss of 50).
2) Get moving with exercise. This will be my toughest challenge.
3) Mind & memory improvement.
4) Healthier numbers at my next doctor's visit.
My Program:
Using SparkPeople to facilitate adherence to the "Mind Diet" and "The Prevention and Treatment of Alzheimer's Diet". While I have no history of alzheimer's in my family, I've witnessed several friends succumb to this disease and it scares me. My current lifestyle heads me in that direction, but I can turn course.
Personal Information:
Am 67 years old, happily married to my best friend and biggest supporter. Was totally skinny growing up into my 30's and still think of myself that way, until I move or look in a mirror. Was a medic in the US Air Force and ended up as a Financial Analyst for Travelers Insurance/Citi.
