My planned 18 in 2018 activities:

1. Read 6 books related to health.
2. Reread a childhood favorite book.
3. Read or watch Sophie's Choice. Watched 2/3/18
4. Read a book of poetry.
5. Hand tie a blanket.
6. Make a button bracelet.
7. Try 12 new recipes.
8. Make a lemon meringue pie from scratch.
9. Listen to 12 podcasts.
10. Take a class, one day or several and gardening ones don't count.
11.Attend a symphony performance.
12. Participate in the library's winter reading program. January 21 to March 3. I read 9 books and got a Bingo this year. I won a prize again this year which wasn't surprising since I don't think a lot of people sign up for this and you can only win one prize (there were over 20 offered).
13. Get a deep tissue massage.
14. Try acupuncture.
15. Get a Plant Peel Facial Treatment.
16. Play cards at the senior center.
17. Go on a Brewery Tour.
18. Attend open mic night. Just to listen.

Fitness Minutes: 407,908

My Goals:
Lose 20 lbs.

My Program:
Eat a healthier diet -- with an emphasis on fruits and vegetables.

Walk/bike/Spark videos for a total of 120 fitness minutes per day.

Drink my water!!!

Learn to think before I eat.

Personal Information:
I live in Central Wisconsin. I retired from my job as a speech therapist for a local school district in June 2008. Then I worked part time until June 2012. Now I am fully retired. I have been married for 35 years. We only have fur kids. Mostly we've owned dogs but in November 2013 we decided to give a kitty a chance. Tony is quite an experience.

Other Information:
I love to read, cross stitch and crochet. My favorite thing to do is to walk the dogs. My husband was diagnosed with celiac disease in January 2011 so we have had to change the way we cook and eat. For the most part, it has been a positive change. He has other health problems that limit his mobility so I care for him as needed. I also share the care for my aging father and my stepmother who has dementia.

    Persist

The only way to fail is to give up. Whatever comes, whatever happens, keep going.

Fix your eyes on the goal, and persist. Your vision, your commitment, and your actions will take you there.

When you can make great big strides, make them. When you can take only small steps, take them.

See every moment as the opportunity that it is. When the wind is at your back, keep going, and when the wind is blowing against you, keep going.

Make good and effective use of whatever you encounter. Tap into the positive value that is always there.

Know precisely where you wish to go and why. Keep going, and you are there.

"How would your life be different if . . . You were conscious about the food you ate, the people you surround yourself with, and the media you watch, listen to, or read? Let today be the day . . . You pay attention to what you feed your mind your body, and your life. Create a nourishing environment conducive to your growth and well-being today."
