I am a 58 year old retired English teacher who wants to stay healthy and active. I am not that overweight. I weigh 138 pounds, but I want to lose at least 15 pounds because I am only five feet tall. Sometimes it is not easy because I suffer from chronic Meniere's Disease. I will not give up though. I try to stay positive and I will not allow this disease to steal anything else from me. Because of it, I had to retire. It was the right thing to do.

I have now been with Spark People for two years as of today, May 2, 2011. I feel very good about myself. I now walk between seven to ten miles a day and I do weight training everyday. I feel healthier than I have ever felt in my life. I do cardio three times a week and I feel wonderful. I hope and pray that my third year with Spark People is as prosperous and as blessed as my first two years were. I wish blessings on all of my Spark Friends and I pray that all of you accomplish all of your goals. God Bless all of you!!!

May2, 2012 was my third year with Spark People and I feel wonderful. I must admit that I have had a few run-ins with the dreaded Meniere's Disease, but like I have said before, "I refuse to allow this disease to beat me!!!" As far as working out, it has been great and at the end of the year, I purchased some kettle balls. I have fallen in love with this workout routine. I see a big difference in the muscles in my arms and back. They are awesome!!!! I still walk five to seven miles a day, and it seems to get easier and easier everyday. We'll see how the new year finds us.

My Goals:
I hope and pray in the years to come that I keep the weight off and stay healthy. I really want to get back to teaching.


My Program:
I try to eat right every day.

I most certainly walk my five miles or more everyday. I lift weights, workout with my bowflex, hulahoop, workout on my stability ball, and I walk on the treadmill. I also workout with tubing and kettlebells.



Personal Information:
I am from Kingsville, Texas. I received my Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Texas A&M in Kingsville, Texas. I also received my Reading Specialist certification and my Kindergarten certification from Texas A&M Kingsville. I received my Gifted/Talented certification from Texas A&M in Corpus Christi, Texas. I love teaching and I really want to get back to it.

I have four sisters and two brothers, and my wonderful parents. I married my best friend Nicolas Moreno thirty-five years ago. We have one beautiful daughter, Juliette Nicole Moreno Rodriquez and one son-in-law, Daniel Rodriquez. Our daughter is twenty-three years old. There are no grandchildren yet!


Other Information:
I love to read, anything and everything. My favorite quotes are: "This too will pass", and "Let no one come to you without leaving better and happier". I am a very positive person and I surround myself with positive people and positive situations. I believe in God and I try to do a good deed every single day.
