I am happy to say that the effort and energy in changing my life style is helping. I'm not saying it is easy but I am saying it is working.
I wish I would have taken care of myself more when I was young. But I am in better shape and have more energy than when I was in my 20s. I still weight 25 pounds more than I did at that age - I am not interested in getting back to that weight. I am intrested in changing my lifestyle. Medical issues have made me want the change.

I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 34 years. I have two beautiful daughters (both married), two wonderful son in laws and one very precious grandson.

With no one at home now is the time to take care of me. I try to complete strength training 2 to 3 days a week. I practice yoga 2 evenings a week. In the groups that I work out in I am not the strongest or fastest or the most flexible but I am doing what I can do. I compete only against myself. There will always be someone stronger, faster, healthier, smarter and prettier - so why would I want to compete against that?

Everything I do, I do for me and to make me a better person.
I can't change anyone else - but I can change me!

My Goals:
Run a 5K September 13th,


My Program:
I need to stick to my game plan. I fall off track and slack back. It takes less effort to gain the weight than it is to lose it.
I have increased my poor metabolism through strength training at least twice a week and cardio 3 to 5 times a week. For stretch I have been doing yoga twice a week. My biggest challenge this summer is to learn what I am not letting go of to achieve my goal.

My life does not come without it's challenges. We all struggle in the day to day . I am looking for emotional support and motivation to continue my journey.

    I think we have some things in common! I too have a summer wedding which is my ultimate goal, outside of just being healthier. I have two boys and they both got engaged within 15 days of each other! The oldest was married last September and the younger one gets married this June. It is going to be the "Princess" wedding and I also, want to look my best for it. So, we can push each other and check in from time to time.
