Hey everyone-nice to meet you! Thanks for checking out my page.

I have gastroparesis and IBS-d, which really have forced me to focus on my diet and eating habits to avoid being really sick. After 3 years, I can manage most of my symptoms by diet without taking 6+ pills a day. SOOO, if you see me stating weird things relating to nutrition, please note that they are specific to MY medical requirements.

Gastroparesis requires that I eat foods that are easy to breakdown, which means NO whole grains, severely restricted fruits and veggies, and meats like steak that are hard to break down. It seems counter-intuitive, right? Welcome to my world! Back in 2011, I was eating all whole grains and a lot of vegetarian dishes (5 days per week)......then I got really sick. High fiber really makes me sick. It's weird and makes dieting for me unique.

Additionally, my IBS-d is triggered by stress, my period, dairy (specifically a protein called casein) and soy. I avoid dairy and soy when I can, but sometimes I just want a piece of cheese! It's especially difficult to avoid while eating out, so I tend to splurge in the dairy area when out and not at my home.

As you can see, monitoring my eating is important to maintain my health and weight. I want to add exercise into the equation so I thought this might be a good place to find my inspiration to keep on loosing and get out of this "obese" category!

My Program:
My program is balance. I understand that I will eat "unhealthy" things regularly. But most of the time, I'll be on track.

Ideally, I need to get used to eating 1600 calories daily to maintain my final goal weight of 145 pounds. To do this, I eat 4-5 meals a day and a diet consisting of low dairy, low carb, low fiber, and low soy to address my digestive medical conditions and food intolerance. Healthy lean protein with numerous fruits and veggies throughout the day is a staple.

Exercise is required for good heart health. The goal is 30 minutes every day. I'm going to try to do 1 hour, four days a week since I know I will not exercise daily, as I despise it.
